Ok..I know Pinoys laugh when somebody farts.
We Indians believe in stuffing food in our bloated bellies till we belch..
Do you have something in your culture that can make people from other cultures laugh?
(Pinoys..you are not banned from adding a few more )

hi vandy from US and southern California Isort of hate this myself and seldom do laugh as I worked as a nurses aide for years and the injuries from falls makes the falls not at all humorous to me. but my fellow Americans will watch this stupid supposed humor best American videos or some such name. Mostly they are videos of people in various pursuits getting their feet tangled or tripping over some silly thing and falling hard. People will just laugh their fool heads off ovet this stupid videos. also if an American farts in public oh my G laughter, it just really gross, never mind how embarrassed the poor farter is. they love things like the three stooges wheo mainly bop each other over the head and that just brings down gales of laughter. I have a sense of humor but its a more refined one.I had to laugh when after I had written in a respoonse that I was mylotting while eating a delicious hot dog with all the trimmings. My fellow poster responded to me" I thought you were a lovely lady . why you eat dogs? thats wrong." I am going oh my G and laughing like an idiot so I comment back" O h my dear mylotter, no I would never eat a dog. no I meant a beef wiener
or perhaps you know them better as sausages. we love dogs , and we have them as pets,we would never ever eat dogs at all." He responded"Oh I am so glad, you really are a nice lady. so you have a dog as a pet too?" I had to reply "I wish I cou ld but pets are not allowed here at Gold Crest unless you put down a hundred dollar deposit and pay forty dollars extra on your rent. that I annot afford."

Ssssssh! Laughter in India on any culture comes at a price.... I cannot laugh as I do not want to end up there
You can laugh at a silly and boring movie, toon, soap on TV many other things... but when it comes to culture, politics, superstitions - the things that can really make me feel like laughing... these are all banned
But still one here - We should always think about us first, then family(ies) and then if anything left for the country.

I missed out watching Pirates of the Caribbean at the theaters and now they have got something called Ready that I want to miss out
Wife still wants to see Haunted in 3D - I wonder what fun is a 3D Horror flick as I can end up at the ICU of the Hospital
... Relation here with praa-ji's comment - "I never was a Boss during so many recent years"... subordinate me!

Sorry ma, but south african don't have a sense of humor.
We don't find things funny.
Hell, i don't even know if we have a culture.
I don't have one, that's for sure.

Down here, Aussies laugh at things others don't see the funny side of... & that is funny to others in itself. We find word plays / double meanings funny & our sense of humour can be described as a dry & ironic, full of idioms & rhyming slang, which most don't understand or like. We laugh easily at others & just as much at ourselves. We have a fair bit of the "tall poppy syndrome". Our practical jokes have dramatically reduced in recent times & were often misunderstood by some, but laughed at by others. We often adjust our behaviour markedly in response to our audience at the time. We cheer on the underdog. To return one of our insults with interest has an endearing effect on us & strangely makes us feel quite comfortable!
What do we do that makes others laugh? Wrestle crocodiles? Say "that's not a knife, this is a knife"? Bend Bananas? Act like idiots, clowning around in other countries? Get drunk too often & make a scene? You can take your pick.

To be honest, most of the time Australian humor goes above my head like a bouncer. I go to hiccup's discussions to learn about it, and I do find him sharp and witty, but quite a few times, I simply dont get it. Good news is that about two and a half years ago, I was not familiar with many types of jokes here, and now I am thoroughly enjoying them to the fullest. I love these people, and I love their weird and whacky sense of humor. Just anything that can have me in splits is so energising.
