why do many filipinos like to sing?

Well I learned something. I had to look up the definition of videoke. I had never heard of that. I love to sing along too. Like you sad, especially to one of my favorite songs.

Well, i like to sing in videoke, if the audience are just my closest friends or my family . I feel shy when there are other people like that in a videoke bar, because i know i am not good at singing. But whenever i sing along in videoke the song will always be the danceable ones, not those that requires a lot of belting out. I guess, Filipinos love to sing because it takes away their tensions and lightens whatever load in life that they may have. It is also an avenue for them to show off their talent in singing.

perhaps, they like joyous occasion and like to feel entertain. through singing many feel relieved of tension and stress. singing is calming and could brought joy and simple occasion becomes more meaningful when singing is shared with friends or relatives. in other words it the most relaxing way to have fun.

thats cute that you love to sing^^ im not a filipina but i love to sing also. sad that i never went to a videoke. anyway i think it would be really fun if i went someday^^ is cool that you are a filipino. i really admire filipino people and i have a few online friends that are. sadly near in my country i dont have a pinoy friend. what is really sad for me. maybe someday i can have^^ or i can travel to pinas and meet a lot^^ continue singing much^^ besides im a big fan of pinoy songs. in my music player i have some tagalog songs that are amazing. i like jay r, christian..^^

maybe because Filipinos are born singers :D.. Moreover, when I sing, I feel like the world is mine and I feel like a star in my own world.. That's what I feel while I'm singing. :)

I also love singing in the videoke, It's one of the things that release my stress. Sometimes if me and my colleague have a bad day at work we go to the mall and sing at the videoke machine in the arcade.

For me because it is our culture and to sing it makes your heart good and more happy so no heart attack.

Hi there GoldenPlanet, With reference to your main topic discussion, indeed Filipinos really loved to sing. As this is one way to relieved the stressed. Aside from eating, malling/strolling inside the mall and dining out to fast foods, I can truly say that Filipinos are also a music lover. Though they are not on the tune and hitting the right pitch, still, they will gonna sing the song until they reach the right tune. I'm a Filipino but I dont like to sing so my nationality could be questionable, lol. I dont think it has something to do with race. More like because videoke is readily available everywhere and we are exposed to a lot of entertainment shows and contests where singers make it big.

I am not a philipinos so I do not know much about your country culture. But I know that singing is not limited to one country alone. Many cultures all have gifted singers and they sing songs that is related to happenings around them. However, it is nice to learn that you philipinos like music. I like music but I am not a good singer.I am a little be shy ( laughter )

I Filipino loves to sing as it may be there in their blood....I have a lot of filipino friends and then all like to meet up for a karaoke session and have some fun....trust me you guys enjoy doin it and its nice....I remember this friends who I work with sings really well and she like lady gaga a lot and sings just like her...awesome talent.....keep it up...

I also love to sing, I was singing in choir for few years and also in band, now when I moved I have not too many possibilities to sing but I still love it!
