I never heard that one about the spider but I believe it is bad luck to kill a spider in your home. I have been told it can bring bad luck. So I wont let my husband kill a spider unless it cant be helped.

lol well they do say a butterfly flapping its wings can make title waves or hurricanes half way across the world. Every action has a reaction so there could be something sientific involved in it but hey all i know is there must be a S**T load of spiders getting stomped on here in Scotland :)

I have never heard the one about the spiders and can tell you that it isn't true. How do I know this? Simple have been cleaning up son's place before he comes back and have killed literally hundreds of spiders but we are still in a drought here in Australia. LOL
Here are a few more to add to the collection.
BED
It's bad luck to put a hat on a bed.
If you make a bedspread, or a quilt, be sure to finish it or marriage will never come to you.
Placing a bed facing north and south brings misfortune.
You must get out of bed on the same side that you get in or you will have bad luck.
When making the bed, don't interrupt your work, or you will spend a restless night in it.

No, I don't believe that.I'm not supersticious at all.If God wants it to rain it will, and there is nothing we can do or say about it.It's just a part of mother nature.

The only one I believe in is knocking on wood. I do that all the time.
