internet service provider details

Good morning Mylottians !
In Chennai I use airtel broadband internet - the scheme is Swift 1099 -- I am given 1 mbps speed upto 20 gb download and thereafter the speed will come down to 256 kbps. All this for payment of Rs.1099 plus taxes. I think it is ok.
Here in USA I find they do give 6mbps/4mbps speed and collect amount equivalent to $100 (Rs.4500/). That way I think internet is cheaper in India than USA.
Now let me come to the point. Who is the ISP(PEOPLE FROM INDIA, USA, CANADA, PHILIPINES, BRITAIN ...ETC.)and roughly how much charge do they take? Is your scheme unlimited or restricted like it is in India?(I am interested in rough figures only and not exact rates.)

I am using a broadband service from one of the popular telco (telecommunication company) here and I need to pay RM68 per month. I am not happy with the service because I still think that it is not worth to have only 1mbps and 3GB space to download. I will finish it just for streaming in not more than 3 days. It is not enough to me. I'd have tried with the different plan/package with the higher price but still the same. Even if the different company also did not give the best. For me it is expensive and it is more than what they could offer to us with that poor service~ In other country the speed is more than that and much more cheaper~

Yes I am form Malaysia. The service provided by varies companies are still behind what i could expect except for one service provide by one company but it is required high cost per month and it is not going to be my choice as I only have one laptop at home and I am not sharing line with others so it did not meet my needs as one package provides lines for 5 computers. It is such a waste. That is why I said their services are not reliable at all~ Waiting for more and better service that meet my needs.

You are Malaysia. there services are not good. However in singapore I think ISPs are good. let us see.

hi friend..
My service provider also airtel, First time i had 290 unlimited plan with my post paid connection and now its 98 unlimited for one month up to 2gb unlimited. I am not sure about the exact speed of my service but so slow..... still using it.

Are u using cell phone internet connection or telephone broadband connection. 299 seems to be quite cheaper. have a nice day

Here 90% of the time speed is good. But we three or more of us use independent laptops under the same connection it will come down to 300kbps or so. it is ok

I do pay quite a bit for the internet here, but I have no choice. Our building only allows the broadband service. Sadly it is $79 per month but I can't complain as they will not allow us to use a different one.
I do have really fast speed though and I guess you can say it is worth it when we do not have much of a choice.
