When did you first let your child sleep with a blanket and pillow?

Ever since my son was 5 mos old he slept in bed with my husband and I. He hated his crib, now I know this wasn't good, but anyway, he has been sleeping with a pillow and blanket when he was in our bed, and with nothing in his crib. Now with my daughter I'm wondering when a good time would be to let her start sleeping with a blanket at night. (she's 11 mos. old)

My 18month old has had a blanket since she was born. But I can not find a good pillow to give her. She keeps wanting mine but then what will I use? But I think your little one will be good with a blanket. They say that when you kid has enough sense to move their head when something is in their way then it is a good time.

I always gave my children a smalll light weight blanket but never a pillow until they were older. They still sleep with either my husband or me most nights or at least fall asleep beside us. I really don't see anything wrong with it even though everyone says it doesn't teach them independence I think it teaches them trust.
