NOTE for those of you who have not seen the new Doctor Who - A Good Man Goes to War and don't want to know how the episode ends read no further.
For the rest, anyone see the episode? I kind of suspected, with the how they show River Song being such a big part of the Doctor's life, it would be an interesting story and the fact that she keeps on telling Rory that the Doctor will find out who she is also intriguing. The thing is who gets the biggest shock are definitely Rory and Amy, River is older then them and they are her parents, the fact that the viewers have to wait until September to see how they react seems like an eternity. So what did you think of the episode?

It was a great episode if only for the fact that we find out who River Song is, after all we have been teased so much about it and waited so long. There have been many theories floating around as to what and who she could be but I did not expect her to be Amy's and Rory's daughter although I had read that she might be but I dismissed it. So now this begs the question does that make Amy and Rory the Doctors in laws lol.
As for whoever's decision it was to take a break to September to air the rest of the series, the BBC should have them shot! There is no way they should have done this in mid series and with a two part story. Shame on you BBC I dont't get the reasoning behind it and I am sure they are going to get a lot of complaints over it.

They were probably hoping by giving us a 50 minute episode it would appease fans. Alex Kingston played it beautifully, just giving enough away. I think it was the new producer who said that they wanted to return to the old technique of having constant cliffhangers, well they started with a huge one.
PS since they are in-laws will the Doctor call Amy and Rory Mum and Dad, okay I know I'm being silly but could get the image out of my head.

Nothing wrong with a cliffhanger as we all love them but September? I am not sure I can wait that long lol. I agree Alex has done a great job and has given us a great character with River.
Don't worry I have thought about that too, it shall be interesting to see the rest of the series and see if the Doctor does call them Mum and Dad. They have really given us one of the most interesting episodes of the new series.

I was very surprised by the revelation i know a large number of fans brought this theory up as speculation before on a few different web sites but i thought it was the most implausible of the theories.I was absolutely positive right up untill the reveal that she was the doctors wife.Even when the doctor realised who she was i was still sure she was his wife especially when he did the kissy lips type thing.(i thought it was hinting at romance not the faces he did at the baby).

I've been waiting for that fact to stop being a spoiler since Silence in the Library.

River did make a remarkable first appearance, it is powerful and scary in that though it is the first time we see her it will be her last, and she is not as brash with him, but I do miss the diary. It is sad too, his first wife is stuck in the Timewar which is timelocked his River is trapped in a computer, but her he sees when he can.

You will always get something interesting and exciting in this show and this is the only best factor in Doctor Who which always attach me with it. I even started watching previous Doctor Who series online at http://doctorwho.edogo.com/ and never miss a chance to watch it.

Yeah, I was one of those people who figured it out LONG ago just because both of them had water related names. And then with the opener showing she was possibly expecting, I knew I was right.
