I Was Cautioned to Surrender...this I could not do.

Don't let them tell you different. Listen to this haunting Leonard Cohen song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG4ndbhOkpI&feature=related The Partisan. When they poured across the border I was cautioned to surrender, this I could not do; I took my gun and vanished. I have changed my name so often, I've lost my wife and children but I have many friends, and some of them are with me. An old woman gave us shelter, kept us hidden in the garret, then the soldiers came; she died without a whisper. There were three of us this morning I'm the only one this evening but I must go on; the frontiers are my prison. Oh, the wind, the wind is blowing, through the graves the wind is blowing, freedom soon will come; then we'll come from the shadows. Les Allemands e'taient chez moi, (The Germans were at my home) ils me dirent, "Signe toi," (They said, "Sign yourself,") mais je n'ai pas peur; (But I am not afraid) j'ai repris mon arme. (I have retaken my weapon.) J'ai change' cent fois de nom, (I have changed names a hundred times) j'ai perdu femme et enfants (I have lost wife and children) mais j'ai tant d'amis; (But I have so many friends) j'ai la France entie`re. (I have all of France) Un vieil homme dans un grenier (An old man, in an attic) pour la nuit nous a cache', (Hid us for the night) les Allemands l'ont pris; (The Germans captured him) il est mort sans surprise. (He died without surprise.) Oh, the wind, the wind is blowing, through the graves the wind is blowing, freedom soon will come; then we'll come from the shadows. This song is about the brave ones who stood up to evil in Europe in WWII. I've heard many say that war isn't an option. Perhaps they are right, perhaps I'd rather be dead than live under the tyranny and cruelty we saw during this awful war. When I see something that people are willing to die for, and see others walk away or hide from the fight, it angers me. I have my own personal experience with evil. And I probably wouldn't be here to contemplate such things if not for someone risking their life for me. I there anything you would die for?

Those that justify war must justify the motivation to war, which runs contrary to scripture “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’[f] 39 But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. 41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away. 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor[g] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,[h] 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren[i] only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors[j] do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect all the best urban

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven… a time for war and a time for peace.” –Ecclesiastes 3:1,8 Psalm 144:1 A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. II Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. I included this verse just in case you felt Jesus did not use the Old Testament in his teaching. He in fact quoted every book in the Torah and the Psalms during his ministry, thereby giving them stature as HIS WORD. God is a God mercy to those who obey him and a judge to those who do not. As Christains we ARE commanded to love our enemies. To forgive those who abuse us. I do not disagree with you on that, and I endeavor to do just that by the Grace of God. But the Bible tells us that this world is not obedient to God and that we are to resist the evil of this world. Is it 'righteous' to allow evil to kill, maim and destroy the innocent and the weak?

We are commanded to 'rightly divide the word of truth'. Not to pick and choose only that which pleases our ears.

I would die for my children's freedom to do as they please with their lives and think what they want, say what they think without fear of reprisal. These rights are beginning to be eroded. I'm old and not the person I once was physically but by damn, I can still shoot straight. I can also vote, although that weapon apparently isn't very effective. I'll use my vote as long as I can and when that tool is taken away or finally destroyed I'll do anything to protect my children's freedom. Our freedom of speech is being destroyed through intimidation, too. That is very scarey and once it is gone, violence may be our only weapon.

I will be posting a discussion on our governments bowing to evil. Yes, I will call it what it is. And the day is rapidly coming when we will be told to bow or die. I believe that because it is in Revelation. Only God knows the day and hour, but Jesus told his disciples what to watch for. The fig tree has set forth its leaves, summer is nigh. Matthew 24. We are seeing the end of this age. God grant us strength to stand. People need to get their hearts right with God to be able to stand in that day.
