According to the internet it is 41 degrees here in Dubai this morning but it sure feels more than that! The humidity makes it worse... when the wind blows it feels like standing in front of a big hairdryer. To my myLot friends who are planning to travel. Pls don't visit Dubai from the months of June to Sept. The heat is unbearable! Thank god for ariconditioning otherwise, this would be a very miserable place

Yes i know. I worked in Muscat,Oman for 4 years where the temperatures were as bad as Dubai which is its neighbouring state. We had a/c in our quarters, the office and also in our cars.I really used to feel bad for the construction workers who had to toil in the hot sun all day long and who used to live in very crowded quarters with a single a/c or sometimes even without one. However at night the heat was bearable even though it was humid. Most of the Gulf countries have similar hot temperatures but people ,especially from developing countries work there because they can earn good money and for that they are willing to bear the heat and other discomforts.

I heard that there's a new rule that construction workers are not allowed to work from 11am - 2pm. Apparently there were some casualties because of heat stroke so the labor authorities came up with this rule. business owners who make their workers work outside during these hours will be fined heavily

Hi, ddaguno. Thank God for the invention of A/C too! Without this machine, we would be really hot and uncomfortable. Do you by chance live in Qatar? The reason why I ask this is because there is a city in Qatar that is named Dubai. Here in the United States it is near 100 degrees for the past couple of months. It is very hot in South Carolina, so I wished that we could have a cooler temperature like the one that you are having a month ago. Is 41 degrees considered to be hot where you are at?

I agree 100%. Even here in Canada where I live the temperatures are soaring and never seem to be at a comfortable level for very long. May is the nicest month And October isn't bad either but July and August? You can keep those :-)

If I visited Dubai I would go in my home countries winter like in January or November. I few times I have been very happy to feel the affects of air con. I went to Darwin and it was very hot and the most humid I have ever experienced. It was in the hot and wet season. Much rain came and I saw a lightening storm. I was wet with sweat all the time I was there. The affects of showering didn't last long. I liked being in the air con shops loads. I traveled to Israel and Jordan in August so it was very hot and dry. It was like being in an oven. In places the air was dry and dusty which bothered my contact lenses. I stayed for a couple of nights on a flat roof and I loved it up there. In a room it was just way too hot. I find a dry heat easier to deal with than a humid heat like in Darwin during the wet season. Good luck with the rest of your time in Dubai.
