New Haircut Equals New Life?

I just had a haircut. My hair was long, to the middle of my back already then I had it cut because the weather is so hot and my hair is so thick that it adds up more to the heat. Now, my hair is just a little below my chin, so it has become really short. But when I got my haircut, it's like a brand new phase of my life. It's like, it's a new version of me and a more fierce one, a more willing to love one, a more serious one. I think it's like, "hey, this is the mark of my new life!" How about you guys? Have you had a time in your life when you change something outside of you and you feel changing some things in the inside?

It depends on how much I get cut off. If I am lucky enough to get a couple of inches taken off then I do not feel different, but if I get a drastic haircut then I do feel different. My last haircut (which was in January) my hair was down to the middle of my back and I had it cut to the nape of my neck. That is the shortest I ever had my hair. I never told my husband that I was getting my haircut that short. He was under the impression that I was getting a coup,le of inches taken off. When I got to the hair salon I had told the lady that I wanted my hair washed and then after it was washed I would decide on how much to take off. I told her that I wanted to surprise my husband and cut my hair completely different. She was surprised on how much I wanted taken off, but was glad to do it. I did feel like a new person.

A trip to the parlor for a haircut is a nice outlet when I feel bored or depressed. Though I don't want to cut it very short, it seems that my outlook in life changes. I am not adventurous when it comes to hairstyle: hairstyle, hair color or the likes. I always wanted a simple and professional look.

I had just had my son's hair cut and it made him look different. He had the baby haircut and I wanted more of a style to it. So they spiked it up top and cut it short on the sides and back. It looks so cute on him and makes him look so much different and older. I gel it for him each morning and he will learn how to put gel in it sometime soon. I spray a little hairspray in it too and he thinks he's a big boy cause he gets to use hair supplies in his hair. lol

What you do is what makes up your life, and I think if the new haircut makes you feel like a new person (the first few days after a cut does that to me too) then yup, you feel like you've got a new lease on life :)

I always feel different when I get a haircut. I had gotten my haircut in February. Before getting it cut it was to my midback, but when I had gotten it cut I had it a bob cut to the hairline. Now it has grown out to almost the end of my neck and almost shoulder length again. I am hoping to let it grow out this summer and hopefully by that time it will grow to the middle of my back again. I do not cut my hair as often as most women because I cannot afford it. My hair grows faster in the summer and the fall, then in the winter it slows down. I feel by chainging my outer self it makes me feel good inside. I know that whenever I cut my hair I never tell my husband what length it will be or what style I want. He takes me because we only have one car and with money being so tight he is the only one on the car insurance. We live in the country and we go to the biggest town once a week for groceries. When we are in town we make a day out of it and make a list of all the places we need to go to.

Yes, it can be a sign to others that you are changing. I was watching a match on tennis, where a person was getting trashed, afterwards, the same person after seemingly won a big rally, changed his shirt and his racket as to tell him and his opponent that a different side of him is coming. He then won the match, as the other opponent started making unforced errors. I think that when people wants a change in their life, they would try to change many things in their life, starting from the things they wear, the friends you make. They want a drastic make over. I once experienced this kind of thing before, i dont think it is bad. It is only through admitting that we are not perfect and needs improvement, would we become better people.

It is good to hear that you look smarter in new hair cut. I keep it simple and always feel smarter after monthly routine hair cut.

I guess, the change in your hairstyle was drastic. Imagine from having a long hair to very short hair. The change is very obvious. So , it's understandable why you feel like you have a new life. Well, that's how we feel whenever we have a haircut that is drastically different from the previous one. We feel different and we feel a new zest of life.

I really don't feel special when I cut my hair or let it grow. My reasons for hairstyle is always for convenience and for most times, for vanity. I have heard of women who change their hair styles in response into what happens in their life. For example, a recently single woman would mostly likely cut their hair or change her hair color. It's like a symbolic action of cutting away the bad past or changing the color will make the change more bearable. I certainly don't blame the if that's their reason. For one thing, it's their life and their hair. I haven't experience that feeling or situation but perhaps I will surprise myself in the future. If it does, I am looking forward to it.

ban: I agree with you. If your haircut changes obviously and that's the style you love most, Admittedly, it will change you mentally. For instance, make you more confident and optimistic about life. Therefor, having a change outside you are willing to can make you more distinctive.

Many girls have their long hair cut when they break up with their boyfriends. BUt I would choose not to do the same but it is hard to keep the hair that long again. lol

I've gone from different hairstyles before but it always felt the same. Although whenever I put on a formal clothing, yeah, it did feel different. I felt like I'm a successful businessman or something. It could be addicting when done excessively but I still like the real me; plaid jeans, plain colored shirt, and sneakers. That's who I am, I guess.

i think most women have this feeling. like it's a new start when you get a new hairstyle. that is why after a break-up a girl's next stop is usually a salon.
