At the start of the 2011 French Open finals, I was hoping to see Roger Federer raise the trophy this time. And the start that Ferderer made in the 1st set, everything was looking bright and sunny for the Swiss. But when the score card read 5- 2 in favor of Federer, things started to change.and in the end the 1st set went 7- 5 in favor of Nadal. Nadal ended up taking the 1st two sets. Federer made brief come back by clinching the third set. But then Nadal finished off the match by breezing through the fourth set. He is the undisputed King of Clay.
How can one stop Nadal????????? When he came on to the scene, experts commented that with his kind of play, he will not last more than two years. Since making his debut in 2003, Nadal has appeared in twelve Grand Slam finals and won ten of them. He has made the Career grand slam of winning all the four Grand Slams, when he won the US Open in 2010. He owns the French Open. On clay he makes even the great Roger Federer look miserable. As a matter of fact Nadal make s Federer look miserable every single time they meet. The point has to be noted that Federer is an excellent player in the clay too. It is just that, he has not been able to jump the hurdle of Nadal. And Nadal has done this all by the age of 25.e And the way he is playing I do not think he is going to burn out any time soon. "HIS FLAME IS ON FIRE"...!!!!!
I believe, the only way to stop Nadal is if some more relentless than him bursts on the stage....!!! Some one or the other comes and plays an unbelievable match to upset Nadal here and there. But then these people cannot do it day in and day out. Nadal for sure has stretched the limits of professional tennis by a long way....!!!!

One of the ideal ways to conquer Nadal is to bring him on to the grass court. Last year he did win at Wimbledon, but last year he lost the French to Federer. This year he has won the French, so I expect Federer to return the favor at Wimbledon. Despite winning last year, Nadal would be the first to admit that this is his least favorite surface!!
Cheers!

Dear Ram
Grass court was Nadal's weakness a few years back. But, I firmly believe that he has overcome that. In the last four Wimbledon tournaments that he has appeared, he has reached the finals four times and won it the last two times. And talking about French Open, Federer is yet to defeat Nadal on clay courts. Nadal was the winner last year as well. His only loss at the French open came in the in the fourth round of 2009 to Sweden's Soderling. But other than that since his appearance in 2005 he has won them all (I mean French Open).
But this time I would like Federer to win the Wimbledon. The victory would be even sweeter, if Federer defeats Nadal in the finals....!!!!

i think nadal can be stopped and he will be stopped by federer in this coming wimbledon only. i am big federer fan but i always admire nadal's hardwork and his ability.but now i feel the time has come that nadal should be stopped and getting the feeling that federer is gonna do that.
he is already beaten twice by djokovic in last month and nadal seems very tired after the french open as he played a lot of tennis this season.so this would be the best opportunity everyone has to beat him on the grass on which he had struggled in the past.
eagarly waiting for wimbledon to start.

Dear Shailesh,
It will be foolish to write Nadal off for Wimbledon. He is the defending Wimbledon Champion. He defeated Federer in 2008, did not play Wimbledon in 2009, and then came and defeated Tomas Berdych in 2010. So I mean he has proved his credentials on grass courts as well.
Yes but I agree that if any one can defeat Nadal, it will be Roger Federer.

Well as per your details as concern he seems to be unstoppable right now even roger was not bad in this tournament. Well French player was good in the semi final but he got stuck because of annoying wind.

I think to stop NADAL on clay court is difficult for any player. Fedrer is better than NADAL i think but on other courts not on clay. There has been a bad record of FEDRER on French open its really in future Nadal will catch up with the Fedrer tally of 16. It seams a lot of difference in their styles which makes them better of than other players.
