I was bitten by my dog accidentally. I'm wondering if you now a hospital o clinic that offers free anti rabies shot. I was already given anti tetanus and passive and active anti rabies shot. Those are covered in my card, but the succeeding shots are no longer covered. I went to this hospital nearby, I was informed it is around 1200 php, the other clinic offers around 600 php. Can you recommend any clinics? I'm from Manila and Rizal.

You can go to San Lazaro hospital. Or you can try at the Makati City hall. My neighbor was bitten by our dog 2 last year and i brought the kid to San Lazaro for the first shot and then the following shots at the Makati City hall.

I'm quite far in Makati and in San Lazaro. But I found a clinic here just beside our town hospital. They do offer shots for 350 php. I think I had a total of 5 shots that I already completed.

What I know is that all government hospitals give free shots. Try to call San Lazaro in Manila or PGH.

I've been to some hospitals and the prices ranges from 600 to 1200 PHP. There's an animal bite clinic near our hospital that offers 350php per shot. Total of 5 shots and I was able to complete those.

Uhm, for government hospitals, I think they won't ask you to pay for their services, but you have to buy the vaccine, which is worth around Php1200. But the vaccine is good for 2 people, and it cannot be stored so it's better if she could find a partner.

Our dog bit my brother years ago and I remember he went to San Lazaro to get free anti-rabies shots. I think it was given to him gradually as he kept going to that place for the shots. Luckily, our dog didn't have rabies because we give him his shots every year.

I've been to San Lazaro and they no longer offer it for free. And San Lazaro is quite far in our area. I will consume more than a hundred pesos for fare for every scheduled shot.

Hi chiwasaki! You should go to your town's municipal health office/center. They always offer anti-rabies shots but I think they are not for free. However, they should be cheaper than any private clinics. Why were you bitten? How were you bitten? I have never been bitten by a dog and I'm thankful for that. I have witnessed someone getting bitten and it's truly scary. The woman was crying and the dog wouldn't let go of her arm. When the dog finally let go, they immediately put garlic, I think it was garlic into the dog bite. They say the garlic sips off the rabies. I don't know if it has medical basis, you know how people in the provinces are. Well, I hope you get well soon.

Garlic is like an anti - biotic, that is why it was placed on the bite.

Hi secretbear! I actually went to the town center. They said that they won't be able to give me shot since the first anti rabies shot is different from what they are using. They are using Rabiefur something and I was initially injected with Rabievax.

I think it would be better to stay in the clinic / hospital where you had your first shots. In that way they can monitor your "progress" more efficiently. I was also bitten accidentally by my pets. Yes, pets. And yes, it connotes not only once, not twice, but thrice. The first one was when I fed my dog, the freak dog accidentally bit me, thinking my finger is still part of the dish. The second one I was bitten by my cat while playing. Third one, I was again bitten by my car while petting it. So one can tell me jokingly that I am a hustler in rabies shots, hahaha. But in all cases, I had myself vaccinated on the same clinic where I had my first vaccine. At least they can monitor me well, and I can be assure that there will be no influx of allergies upon every shot because I am well monitored. For every shot I spend around 600. But there's a trick. Actually it is 1200 per vaccine. But the med for the vaccine is good for two people, so when I am in the clinic I look for people who got bitten to and ask them if we could "corroborate" and chip in to the 1200 vaccine. That makes my spending 600 only! Hope you'll be fine soon.

The first hospital that I've been to is a private hospital. The first vaccine is covered with my health card. The succeeding vaccine will costs me 1500 php per shot. Its quite expensive but fortunately I was able to find a less expensive one.

Hi. How long have you been beaten by your dog? In my experience, if you treat your dog gently, your dog will never bite you. But if so, don't worry to much. A dog with good treatment do not have such rabies. And if you have bitten for more than 12 hours and you are still fine, so the dog is OK. A house dog usually don't have rabies. I have two dogs, and when I play with them, they bite me. I am OK till now. Thanks.

Actually my dog is sick during that time. He's a bit sensitive and he did not see me when he bite me. He just automatically bite my finger because I'm cleaning her ears. It is a very small cut though.

Get the shots as soon as possible! This is cause for alarm! May I ask, is the dog vaccinated? I know somebody who spent more or less PHP6000 for the shots after she was accidentally bitten by a puppy. How's the wound? Have you consulted a doctor already?

The wound is really small. It is actually on my finger. And I can see that my puppy was surprised when he bite me.
