Azkals got the shock of their lives

Obviously they forgot to guard those high scoring UFL foreigners from Ivory Coast and Sudan. Or were they just scared to be injured? Or was Phil Younghusband thinking too much of Angel Locsin instead of the game? Are they going steady already? I will feel much better if the Azkals will be reinforced by the UFL players during the World Cup qualifiers. However, I'm not sure they can recruit Dagroh and El-Habbib as imports. But it was a very good day for football. Now everybody's talking about it :) But one thing bugs me: we really really need a brand new Football Stadium. The Rizal Memorial is now too old. Any big sponsors for this? Maybe Henry Sy, the Ayalas, the Aranetas, the Marcoses, the Gokongweis, the Pacquiaos or any of our politicians can help.

I didn't get to view the game. What was the score?

The score was UFL 4 Azkals 3. But it was the ending that was really ugly, if one was an Azkals fan. The game was about to end in a draw, just about 20 seconds left, when the players were ready to call it a day, when suddenly El-Habbib came out of nowhere, zoomed across the field, and pumped in that winning shot! That was a shocker! And what a shocker! It woke up the football fever even more! Now pinoy football fans want more action :) You could say it was a blessing in disguise.

Well, that's sports. You win some, you lose some. You can't really be winners all the time. The reason may be a lot of things but in the end there's only one victor. I believe that this will serve as a lesson for the Azkals and they will learn from this. Still cheering for them.

I think the Azkals are caught in the fanfare of their fame. TO the point that maybe, just maybe, their skills are being affected. The game they are in requires high levels of focus and determination, and patience too. I just hope they really deliver what they are always promising us Filipinos.
