They misunderstand the lesson. It has nothing to do with money (although money IS one of the 'things' they use to show their sinful ways) ...
See, the lesson is that Our Father gives everything and trusts that he WILL have everything he needs when he is to use it. They (and all we humans, I guess) can only give out of 'what we have saved'; thus leading to considering 'savings' as part of 'usings' (instead of KNOWING them all to be "extra" and giving freely).
But that's the kind of system we live under!

Well, they are ... in a "Jesus, Take the Wheel"-way. The problem is that--once they pass Jesus the wheel--then they come and let all Hell break loose in the back of the van!
(Who sings that song "Jesus, Take the Wheel"? Maybe she would be a good duet with Lady Gaga!)

Greed my friend as too many are not willing to give and or give up when they have an abundance to do so with. Sadly it is the poor who is always willing to give and or give up what little they have. But you see this was what Jesus did during the last supper, was to give the little but everyone ate.
Now a days the well off prefers to save, save, surely they know they will not take, take when they depart right?
