do we get paid if we started a discussion as well? I don't know because I am new to this.

Welcome to myLot.
As the response says in box one, you will NOT earn if you do not comment back to any of your discussions with quality comments. Saying thank you for the response is not allowed and not quality.
Therefore all of us responding to you are earning from your discussion. You will only earn if you comment back to us. Not doing so and continually starting discussions will waste you efforts.
Keep in mind that anything you type with Quality earns You, anything I type with Quality earns me.

That's right. More you participate her, more you earn. Not only make a discussion and response, but you can also post you photo, participate in task, use search engine, etc. Welcome to mylot and happy lotting!!

MyLot pay us according to the QUALITY of our participation. Starting a discussion is only part of it. It doesn't become a discussion until you get responses AND THEN reply to those responses with good quality comments.
