I just had a t.v dinner it was fettucinne Alfredo and I added some crunhced up tortilla chips and put a lot of pepper on it and it was Yummy!!! And yesterday I had a chicken club sandwich that was a microwave one and I am surprised that it was so good because usually when you get those they come out of the microwave all soggy! But this one was not!! It was great it was one of those Michellinas and I am really surprised that it was so good!!

I do like the Michellinas brand as I have had some yummy entrees. I was thinking Tortillas chips in there sounds like fun. Can't go wrong as the meal alone probably is not filling but adding the Tortilla Chips certainly makes it hearty.
I will have to try that one. lol

I used to buy those quite often when I worked full time. They are decent lil micro meals for the price. I wish my hubby would like them but of course he prefers the Hungry Man dinners, when I can get him to take a lunch that is anyways.

Frankly, I find most frozen dinners underwhelming, especially when some of the dishes, such as Fettucine Alfredo are so easy to make. Yes, it takes a bit of time and care, but the taste is most rewarding. Butter, cream, parmesan cheese, noodles, salt and pepper - what's not to like? And of course you can add peas, broccoli, asparagus, ham, chicken, etc. if you're feeling ambitious.
While I completely understand the need NOT to have to cook and the time constraints, I just like fresh food, freshly prepared.
Nonetheless, I feel certain frozen foods do hold up well and maintain some flavor.
Stouffers makes a good product, having been a wonderful restaurant chain in the good old days. Their Italian Lasagna is fine to me and also their macaroni with meat sauce, spinach souffle and corn souffle are tasty. Souffles take some work, so the convience here is excellent as well as tasty.
I've not done much cost analysis re frozen/fresh food comparison, but I think sometimes it can go either way.
But, yes, it's also a matter of taste and time.
I'm glad you have found things you really enjoy!
The other night I tried a new recipe that surprised me in that it was called a lobster and corn brulee. It's a delicate custard, made with cream, as is Alfredo Sauce. What surprised me was the SECOND NIGHT flavor (that's right, the leftovers!), which tasted even better. I never would have imagined such a delicate dish holding up that well, but I was too cheap to throw it out, and very surprised at how well the flavors held up and married. (It had just a tad of lobster, which could have been omitted).
It was a simple recipe, thus so much more enjoyable.
