If God gives us 48 hours in a day

This is big question what will we do if God gives us 48 hours in place of 24 hours. How many hours you will sleep, how many hours you will do the job, How many hours you will play the game etc. or no effect on your routine work. I always thinks why god not give 48 hours. Because Work is more and time is less. Share your views do you think 24 hours is less or enough and you wants 48 hours.

This is the best thing that can happen and specially for me as i have a lot of activities waiting for me but i cannot complete them due to lack of time so i would definitely thank god for giving me forty eight hours a day.

Don't worry God knows what is good and what is bad and there must be a reason and that is why god has given us 24 hours in a day so always be happy and thank God for what he has given.

Though perhaps we would use more time on waking hours playing and or working I believe the sleep times would be just the same. However, I don't think my body would take it for too long. See I generally sleep 6 hours and some days I am very tired so I think that if I added extra hours to work and or play I might just be burnt out. So eventually I would be sleeping more so in the end it evens out.

I surely believe that it is best for us see, if we add more hours every single day, we could do it short term right, but the body will shut down. The body does need rest so forcing more hours some day we can be sitting and drop asleep as we do not have control over it.

I think it would be just about what it is - we'd still work and play about the same percentage of the time. If time increaed it would be just like when our money increases, we spend it all proportionally. We'd find a way to be too busy even with double available time! lol!

Yes friend this is true even if we will get double time we will also busy in full day. Because we should make a food at least three times so time will spend in that work. Sleeping time will increase and work load will also increase. You are right our money will increase but expenses will also increase. Thanks for response.

Hi Surekha! I would say that it will be just the same my dear friend. We will doing the same job, use and spend the hours just like when we have 24 hours. More technologies will be invented to fulfill everyone wish to be more instant, we will think that it is still not enough because there will be more work and as a result we will asked for more and more time. No I don't want that. I would prefer I just have 24 hours each day and thanked god the time never changed.

I can understand that. My sister have been through the same struggle~And many housewives struggle the same problem when their husband refused to help them in house chores. It is hard to keep ourselves in the same track while we need to do multiple jobs at the same time~

Hmmmm you are happy then I am also happy my friend. You dont want to change the time and tell thanks to God but I want to more time because I am an Indian women and you know Indian women has more work. She working as a servant in home, she worked as a employee in office etc. So I have more work and time is less but anyway you dont want to take more hours then I also change my mind.

An interest question indeed. For me I will just double the time I take for all activities -- Now I sleep for 7/8hours - I will make it 14/16 hours. So I will have proportionate time for all activities. I am happy you have a lot of work. Reverse is the case. No work. I am spending time usefully in mylot. have a good day.

Good Question! I would only sleep 8/9 hours a day. Do you know why? Because i think that we only need our 8 hours of sleep to recharge and back to work. But this 8 hours must be a quality sleep of 8 hours. When we are Sleeping the body repairs itself and the more hours one sleep, they are likely to have some kind of brain damage or memory problems like some coma or something. So if i've given 48 hours... that would be awesome! more work to be done! :D

Ha ha,very interesting idea.If god really promised your request, there are 48 hours a day,I think, before long, people will feel this day is really too sad, time is too long.So I think that god give us 24 hours a day,is justified.Wish you happy every day!

Hi surekharathiji I will be the one who will return the extra 24 hours and settle for only 24 hours (I would ask for less if possible) I have nothing much to do except sleep and eat and take medicines during the 24hors day... and that makes me really think that if I get 48 what will become of it. I a m sick of these lazy hours thanks to the medications and illness. But when I was in college, healthy I think 48 would have been used better.

That can be a conflicting question to myself. I certainly don't want to work to long, and I certainly need some rest, abundant hours type of rest too. Sometimes, I think that 24 hours a day, might not enough, but sometimes, 24 hours a day just too long. So, I can't really answer your question here. I hope that someone can bring out a reasonable answer for this one. It is more like personal preference.

If God gave us 48 hours a day, then our bodies should be built to run for 48 hours a day not 24. If it was still built for 24 hours, then I would suppose I would be doing the same thing. If we were built for a 48 hour day, then that would drastically change things. that would mean we have to do everything double. at least 16 hours of sleep, 16 hours of work. Meaning we have another 16 hours to do whatever we want. If we had more tie in a day, I believe we would have more working hours and there would be more procrastinators! But more time with my family can't be too bad right?

Yes you are right if we get 48 hours then everything will double but not 16 hours sleeping or 16 hours working at least 12 hours is sufficient. Yes we can spend more time with our family. Thanks for response.

It's good that we have 24 hours in a day otherwise, we will get salary once in two months (in case, of 48 hours).

for me its just like the other said. Things are still the same for me. But i think we are just lucky coz God thinks on our own welfare. He never abused us. So ithink we better make use our time wisely and do things what is supposed to do.

I would just carry on my day as usual, but instead they would be double days, or sectioned in parts. For example "Monday Part 1" , or for short, "MonP1, MonP2, TuesP1, TuesP2" and so on. I would go to work as usual and sleep my 7/8 hrs. I don't think I would have the sanity to change the percentage of each of my activities by too much. I would be willing to do shift sleeping, (like 4 hours of sleep, then next activity), and even shift work, but my overall percentage per day would stay similar. I think we need a certain amount of sleep for the activities we do during the day, and if we reduce that, we would probably shorten our lifespan, or at least be forced to retire earlier,on smaller income. So if I had a 48 hour day, I would have to sleep around a total of 16 hours, but I don't think i could do it regularily in one go. One time I was so sick I slept 18 hours without stirring but I don't think I could ever do that again. I don't think our bodies are meant to be laying down for that long. Some people even think we are meant to sleep in shifts of 4, and some ppl do THAT regularily! Personally, I am used to 7-8. That is why I think I would split my day into two.

well this is really a strange unique question since this will never happen however There is local myth in our place that days long ago back when watches was even made that days were longer then and that as time goes by somehow each day got shorter until it became 24 hours. well I don't know if its true but I think if we had 24 hours in a day surely we will have a lot more work to do=)

Thanks friend to say strange and unique question really some time when I has not time to do the work in mylot then I immediately got idea if God give us 48 hours then how can spend it. In new technology time is less and work is more.

Well that would depend upon how much sleep we needed. For example, if we could survive for 48 hours with just eight hours sleep per night then I would do this and then spend more time working and things like that. There wouldn't be much difference between it, a "day" is just a measurement of time, and the time still exists as it did before. I don't think we'd live any longer, we would just sleep slightly less, most likely.

I don't think that I would really want to have 48 hours in the course of a day. The reason for that is that I would probably proceed to come up with a lot more work that I would want to accomplish in the course of a day. I would, however, like to have another hour in the day so that I would have just a little bit more time when I would be able to relax and enjoy those things that I like in my life. Just one more hour though, so that I wouldn't try to cram too much in.

I think if it is possible then I like to take sleep of 15 hours in a day. Because I love sleeping. And also I can get more time in a day for meet to my friends and also we can do many works in a day. But if you are a working person then some problem can arises you like company will rise the working hours like 9 hours to 19 hours in a day. So there are some drawbacks and some profits.

Hi sure, That would mean 24 hours of daylight and 24 hours of darkness. If it happen today, there would be a lot of adjustments to make for I am only able to stay up awake for about 16 hours in a 24 hour period. That would be a waste of the extra 8 hours of daylight, I am sure. Had I grown up with it, it would not be hard sleeping l6 hours and going awake for 32 hours straight. That may take another year for me to adjust at my present state.

Well I guess there is two ways to look at that. One being 48 hours in a day so everything would be twice what it is now. Like sleep would be 16 hours not 8, work would be 16 hours not 8. Then you could look at it that the 48 hour day is like it is now, we sleep for 8 hours and work for 8 hours and the rest of the time is ours to enjoy. Hey, that would be cool. We would have more time for ourselves.

48 hours in a day! My days would be a lot more productive, I feel like I would actually get to accomplish a lot of things that I don't currently have enough time to do.. I'm not a big sleeper, but I would probably add a couple extra hours to my sleep and then the rest of the time would be spent working, running errands, and spending time with my family. I'm used to working during the day, so it's really hard for me to schedule doctor appointments or run errands because a lot of those places are always closed by the time I get off, but if there were 48 hours then I would actually get a chance to run those errands and go to doctor appointments without having to call off work or rush at lunch time. Such an interesting concept.
