Did You Meet Arrogant myLotters?

HI Rose Yes I have but not too often, but it does happen. Online members are no different then offline people. I do just like the site says and "try" to ignore and it really is the best thing to do as sometimes things can get out of hand. I did respond for the FIRST time ever to one and though it is not in my nature at all, I thought it was necessary as I was seeing way too much lately, but hindsight I will return to my normal ways and definitely ignore and or report. My suggestion would always be to ignore and if it becomes abusive use the (!) report button and inform admin as it is the best way to handle the situation. Admin, though they probably do not get involved in personal issues, will read what is occurring and make a determination of their own.

From time to time I do run across mylotters who sound like they are being arrogant. Part of the problem is that we cannot hear their voices or see their faces when they respond to us. So we may sense them as arrogant when that is not really the case. On the other hand, as others have said to you, if you feel like you are being abused or stalked, let admin help you out.

hi rose888 I hope I never come off sounding arrogant to others. we sometimes do not see the faults in ourselves that others do. I have a habit of telling newbies to please read the guidelines, the rules of discussions and the questions and answers but its not said to scold 'or be mean but honestly I am trying to help as I was new once myself.welcome to my lot most of the people I have posted to have been wonderful and kind and well just great friends. I do not think you will find many arrogant or conceited people here as they usually do not last,dear if someone insults you you have every right to hit the exclamation point and report it as a buse.we are supposed to get alolng,to welcome new people and to enjoy each other too. I thjnk I can truthfully say only three people here that I have met that acted arrogant to me.,Rose if I tell you to read some certain pasage in the information trust me its not meant as criticism at all. I know that coming here new theeres a lot to aborb. and if I can help in any way add me as a friend and then you can send me a private message telling me how I could help you.You will find Diana will be very helpful to you and shes been a help to me when I first came here too. there are a lot of really wonderful people here Rose.

i read some discussion where the respondents are arrogant. they are really so serious to defend their comments. anyway they do not understand that everyone have their own opinion. and they must be respected. different mind think differently so they should accept the opinion of other people as healthy exchanges of conversation.

I have encountered one or two in one of my discussions. I chose to ignore them and just say i respect your opinion, or simply don't answer back.

i don't care if someone criticizes me or tries to fight with me on mylot. all there doing is speaking to me through a computer screen. it doesn't phase me. i think its kinda laughable that people get so riled up over what someone types. if that bothers someone bad enough i could only imagine how easily offended they get in real life. things can be alot worse.

hello. and welcome to mylot. i think it is inevitable to meet arrogant ones. though i have to say that even the arrogance has levels, too. anyway, generally, mylot is a friendly site. we can always opt to get away from these types of mylotters.

hello rose, welcome to mylot It depends on how you feel the way a mylotter respond to your topic. Not all responder will agree with our topic,we must and should be open to everyone's opinion since we have different views and principles and mylot is a forum site. As long as they will never use any bad or "foul" words,just ignore them. If you encountered one using bad words then report it to admin like other mylotters advice you. hope you will enjoy it here as we are

I am active for the last 24 days or so, I have come across people who help us, guide us--seniors. I have not come across people making arrogant comments so far. Enjoy participating in discussions and you will be happy. have a good day.

Hi Rose, See there is a difference ,if fighting is genuine & with in the limits of GUIDELINES of MYLOT then i wont say it is not wrong. Arrongance does not mean that the person should fight with you. Yes he can do it but in a good way but still you find it difficult then you should leave the discussion. I have been arrogant in some of the discussions & some discussion became heated up but still i did not leave that till i got the satisfied answers.So it totally depends on you when you feel some thing bad you have the option to abuse it & leave the discussion.

I think some of the mylotters may be a little bit too direct when commenting on post. To certain extent this might hurt others' feeling. Maybe this relates to their personality and to be direct may not be something negative. One thing you can bare in mind is that we don't know each other, you and I respect others, but it doesn't mean some other mylotters will do the same because they may find no point doing so. What I usually do is, still, to respect and be nice to them so as to respect my own principle of treating others well. To tolerate and to forgive are arts in our life. Cheers and enjoy mylotting!
