Hmm.. You need a mobile phone so that it'll be convenient to contact you (or you to contact someone).. What model to buy? You would NEED the basic SMS and call function, but would WANT a unit with a motion sensor, adroid series model..
That's the difference between need and want. But then, some people would always say that these things are NEEDED and not WANTED. Once you equate something to a need, then it compels you to acquire it (and sometimes, by all means!).. When you want it, you know deep inside you that you can always delay it.. :)
I NEED to move on from this topic because I WANT to respond to other topics. :D LOL happy day everyone!

Needs are the things which are imperative for one to survive, while wants are the things that can improve one's way of living but not necessarily sustain it. For example, food is need, while eating every week at different new restaurants is want. What is important between the two is need because it sustain life.

To differentiate, want is liking to have something that is not needed in your everyday life. It is simply a whim. Whereas , a need is something that you must have in order to sustain you in your daily living.
Example : A new bag is a want, because you still have other bags to use.
Cooking oil is a need because you need it to fry the chicken you are
going to eat.

of course we identify these things specially the needs. the needs don't change for every person because they are basic like food, clothes, house, etc. however wants differs from person to person because you might not need some of the things you want and that you can survive without them.
