Neon Genesis Evangelion

has any one of you watch this anime me or read manga 'Neon Genesis Evangelion'.
i just finished watching it. it was good in the beginning where a 14 years old kid is a pilot to some kinda of machine or robot called Evangelion but actually it has its own soul. and it is used to fight against some kind of alien creature called angel.
BUT in the end three episodes or so it is kinda absurd. it it totally out of the story or subject. its weird.. the main character of the story tries to find the meaning behind his existence. his bond with other people.
did you find the ending weird to the story or do you think it is completely related ???

The series is actually really interesting. The two movies that follow each other which I am guessing is the alternate ending ended crazy. So I'm guessing Shinji and Asuka are currently the only two left alive? Now have you heard of the new remakes I guess are coming out. I heard 3 remakes and a movie. Any news on that?

yes in next two different anime or so called OVA has different sort of ending and does summarise the whole thing. and in the end they show Shinji and Asuka are the only two human left and are in different planet since earth was exploded n destroyed. they say that the Evangelion is the creature human created which will last even after the human race extinct.
OHH! and when i looked in to wiki for more info, it said they are making Live Action Drama out of it but due to producer or director reason they have not completed or even started the project.

Actually, the fact that Shinji and Asuka are the only 2 humans left made me hate the movie ending. I find Asuka super irritating (my own opinion.. no offense if you are a fan of hers). In the anime ending.. Shinji is the only one left.. and I think that's pretty cool.

This anime sounds interesting. It sounds familiar for some reason, even though I don't remember seeing it. That's odd. Oh well. Maybe I'll check it out.

Whew. I suddenly remembered my early years by this post. This anime was like the first anime I really watched. Pretty nostalgic.
Yeah the ending was pretty lame if you ask me. But I did love every character from this anime. Really worth watching. I only watched the first one, I never had the chance to watch the new seasons (if there were any).
Thanks for the post! I'll be buying some Evangelion DVDs tomorrow!

am not sure if there is another series like i had assumed but there is OVA series. (i dont knoe what OVA stands for :/ ) it just has two episodes

I think OVA stands for Original Video Animation? Hehe just guessing. I so love Rei Ayanami in this anime. Very cool.

I've watched this anime a very long time ago so I can't really remember its ending. I do remember that I did love it and its weirdness. 
From the fact that the monsters are called Angel to the emotional torment that each of the character feels. If you think you weren't satisfied with the ending, then maybe you can watch the OVAs. I watched one of its OVAs recently and the story was like a summary but there were a little bit of changes but it was really good. No straying from the plot of the story.

yes since all pilot is synchronise with Evangelion they also go through all pain and emotional torment.
actually i am fine with ending but i just found it weird and unique, it was something different to anything i had seen before. I did watch OVA too and it was weird as well but good.

Yeah, Evangelion is the only anime of that plot that I really liked.

I personally think that Eva not only has a soul.. but it's also a living being. I can still recall the bloody fights which Eva engaged in. Whenever Eva has a limb being torn apart.. a lot of blood will spurt out. Eva is definitely not the same as the mecha in Gundam series or other mecha series.
I couldn't really understand the meaning of the last 2 episodes but could understand it a bit better after watching the movie: The End of Evangelion. The movie was supposed to be an alternative ending to the series but after watching it.. it helps to understand the entire series and the anime ending a bit better. Personally, I actually prefer the anime ending to the movie even though the movie's CG is done very well.
Currently, they are remaking Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's called Rebuild of Evangelion and the story will be retold in 4 anime movies. So far, only 2 are released and I must say the animation is top-notch for the first 2 movies. Evangelion 1.0 is basically a retell of the first part of Neon Genesis Evangelion whereas Evangelion 2.0 has some new stuffs in it. I heard that the 3rd and last movies will be completely different from the original anime series. I can't wait to watch them!

i think there was this one episode where the mangaka tells that the eva was the result and product of the the First Impact.
And thanks for letting me knoe i will definitly watch movie 'the end of evangelion' and 'rebuild of evangelion'

I actually have the whole series and the two movies so if you want to see it let me know. It's good but kinda gets weird near the end of the series so they made the two movies for the alternate ending.

omg, i used to watch this anime with my sisters before... all i can say is AWESOME. nice story and cute characters haha the endings was unique... very unexpected but yeah kinda weird

if its OVA then i have watched it. it did had better animation. but the ending was same old same.

guys there is a 2 episode remake of neon genessis evangelion with better animation i think its called Evangelion 1.0 and 2.0
