How do you fight temptation when its already in front of you?

I wonder how people who are already commited fight for temptation that is already in front of them? when they were tempting by whatever means of temptation. Have you ever encounter this to you? how do you handle this? did you take it or leave it? Please share with us so if we are in that situation, we will know how to avoid,fight and resist. Thanks

one of my biggest temptations is over-eating chocolates. i usually can't resist it. in times when i resisted it, i changed my mind into something else that is more important than chocolate and will make me feel good if i do it.
for example: when i saw chocolate in front of me, i remembered i had to check my friend's mail box to see if there are some letters for him. as he is travelling to other city, i will feel like a helpful friend if i do it for him. i will leave my chocolate and go to his mail box soon.
sometimes i only assure my self that i already had enough chocolates and i need to not eat it this time. but i rarely resist the temptation by thinking like this.

Yes and i believe CHOCOLATES IS UNRESISTABLE.! Do you know that choloates has a chemical subtance of phynylethylamine levels in the brain have also been linked to "falling in love". Maybe you really in love with chocolates. You always tempted to eat it. ^^,)

yes, i used to hear about that chemical substance in chocolate that is related to happiness and fall in love.hehe... but i eat chocolate mainly because of its delicious taste. knowing that it can make me happy just make me more sure that chocolate is the best snack and dessert ever!! hehe

Probably the best fight this kind of temptation is to think that the consequences of your actions, will never be positive, but will bring sadness, suffering, and many regrets as you and your partner. If you count that remains a secret, better drop the idea. We all know that the truth comes out sooner or later.
