I think to some extent this could be true. I think one must have a regulated diet. I used to run a company in a city in India and used to work 12-14 hours a day, have a forced regulated diet (my work did not allow me too much time out for eating). At the age of 40, I decided to leave it all and shifted to another city. I invested my savings and lived (and still do) a good life from the returns. My new life in the new city was lethargic, I ate more than I used to earlier and spent very little time at actual work - just accounting of the investments I had made and checking on the small businesses run by others that I had invested in. Within two years I was obese and diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer a while later (in August 2002). Was the cancer the result of the change in lifestyle, the bad eating habits that I had gained once I moved to the new city? I started partying a lot, and though I am a vegetarian and a teetotaler, I did eat more than I did while I was working 12-14 hours earlier. I spent less time sleeping, did a lot less physical activity and maybe this why I was struck with cancer? Now 9 years later, I am back to normal life, the cancerous organs were surgically removed. I walk a lot, have started two alternate careers - that of managing financial portfolios for my clients and as a correspondent for a few publications. These activities keep me busy for a few hours daily. All in all life ha been a good, big learning.

Cancer is not a secretive disease that abruptly attacks you out of the blue, something that you can't do anything about. It has certain causes that you can correct if your body has sufficient time, and if you take action to change the inner environment to one that creates health, not cancer, while at the same time attacking cancerous cells and tumors by developing their weaknesses.
