Do you bother to preview?

Whenever i start a discussion in mylot i always write them directly and just click the start discussion button. I have never tried previewing any of my discussions or responses at all. After hitting the start discussion though i would notice that there are some typographical errors in my writing that may look like grammatical errors. Despite of this, I never bother to check them by submitting a correctional response. I just let them be.
Even if i write articles in my blog or any other site, I really don't bother to check them, not even once. Do you?

We are so different when it comes to writing. I am so meticulous in reviewing and proof reading my works to know if the words that I have used gives a dramatic impact to my writing as a whole. I don't know. That's just how I am, Maybe it is because I am quite a perfectionist when it comes to my works. hehe

Same here. I see most others here don't do so, however, & I think it explains why one frequently sees garbled posts one can barely read.
One wishes others took pride in their writing as you & I do!

Hi!
I also normally go for 'preview' option. I am always in a hurry ....... to post my responses/comments and many a times I commit silly mistakes. If I notice the mistake immediately, I post a correction, else I believe that my friends/other lotters here will understand what I want to convey.

PS - Did you get my PM?

I got your pm and i replied to it. Hope you got that. I think most people don't really bother to preview and it's a common thing. I guess it's because mylot is not just too strict when it comes to typo or grammatical errors.

here in my lot, i do not do that often. it makes me feel guilty though to spot a wrong in the whole discussion post.
for my personal blog, i always preview. i have this thinking that my blog speaks about me, so there is a necessity to be very careful.

I do get the same feeling of regret but then I still don't bother to preview before submitting. Have a nice day!

hello toni,
I do the same,i don't have the habit of previewing my topic that i want to submit and then find out there some errs ,so be it.
But with my responses i try to put some correction when the err gives confusion, not to make the topic started confused or misunderstood my response.
have a good day

Oh god, no. I am not a fan of previewing anything. Is not because I am lazy is just that my internet connection is so slow and it will be a waste of time to preview it. I am not the perfect when it comes to grammar and as I said is just a waste of time. If my internet was faster, I probably would do it, that way many of you will understand what I am trying to say.

hi,
for me previewing is just a waste of time but i am wrong sometimes because i didn't see that there are/ is grammatical errors and sometimes the spellings, since i joined here in mylot i never try to preview my discussion so that sometimes if there's a wrong on my discussion i hardly change it.

True. Mylot is not strict when it comes to grammatical errors anyway.

Hi!
I also do not preview my discussions nor my responses to any discussions. But I do review them, my sentences, the idea, the grammar, and all that before by reading it carefully before I hit the post response button. I also edit wrong spelled words. Some members said before that correct spelling is important here in myLot. Even though I haven't really checked that in the guidelines, I thought I might as well follow since there is no harm doing. And besides, I think it's only proper that we write our words correctly, and our grammar properly for the sake of others.
Cheers.

hi toniganzon I do now as I find when I do not I actually do not make
as great earnings as when I do. I like to see that my post is not
full of errors either in typing or in grammar as I feel my lot really
'does take off for the errors. anyway I like ,my responses to be
clean as I can make them.

I always preview--& I copy my post before I do--for 2 good reasons.
One: What if I made typos, or worse goofs? Previewing helps cut down on those, thus making clearer communication possible.
Two: Sometimes--in fact, lately, a LOT of the time--MyLot loses my reply! If I've copied it, all I have to do is go back to the comment box, paste & resend it.
I learned the hard way that my patience is rewarded.

Sometimes I do preview my writing before I submit it especially when I am writing a new discussions. This happened because I've learned from the past when I misspell the words it could lead to the opposite answer and views. like when I am trying to say that it can't, I forgot to type the 'not word and it will make others confused. When there is a misspelled words then it means that I don't check them and just directly submit.

As for me, I usually read what I've written usually for typographical errors. If I have time, i try to proofread it. That is if I have time. I'm quite meticulous with my typing and writing. But I'm not a perfectionist. I just want it that way. But her e at mylot, I usually just read my entries for typo errros and not much on the grammar.

I do not bother to preview. Preview i believe, similar in forums, and blogs, just show how your discussion is being laid out. Personally I am used to how much discussion are going to be laid out. I mean I've been blogging and wrote in forums, that i could predict how what i have written will look like.
Though i suggest to use the preview button if you believe you have wrote plenty and does not seem appealing. In this case you can check whether or not you need to create spaces in between your discussion in order to appeal more to the reader. Big blocks of writing just isn't attractive.
Cheers.

If we pertain to discussions or comments here, I don't use the preview tab. Although, I used to be so cautions with grammar and spelling before and I would certainly submit a following edited version of my past post. However, I think, time runs so fast for me that previewing my post will take my time. Besides, Mylot was not too strict so I learned to let it be and not bother at all. However, when it comes to my contents or article writing job, I am quite perfectionist on that matter.

I don't have a habit to preview my posts here. I think it is not necessary. When I am typing my posts, I am already looking at the screen to make sure there will not be any mistakes. So why I have to spend time to preview it?

Actually, I rarely do a preview for myLot. I do glance through to see if any words have been highlighted to indicate a typo error. If the error is justified, I'd make a change. But of course, there are times when you just want to comment as much as possible that you skip this step in the process.
But if I write an article, I would normally read once through again before submission to detect any errors in sentence structure or typo.

When i am in hurry, most of the time i don't preview my reply to any discussion. I will just type what i want to share and let it be there. Only when i am very free, then i prefer to preview each and every reply before i hit the submit button. I am trying my best not to post any error in my reply, to avoid confusion. I am always trying my best to minimise as much error as possible whenever i can.

I use preview on my own blog and on a few things if I really want to make sure to double check anything. I do a lot of proofreading in my day job so when I am writing and it's important that everything be correct I will preview. On discussion boards, chats, and sites like this I use mainly just to chit chat I'm more relaxed about it, I very rarely preview on a site like this. I don't have time to go through EVERYTHING with a fine-toothed comb, and it doesn't bother me when I see other mistakes from people just chatting. My blog I write about art and I want it to leave a good impression so I take a bit more care with it.

Possibly many of us do like this in order to write more. But quality writers check their grammar, spelling mistakes and then only will post their blogs or responses. In mylot we have a provision for preview response - we can correct them. But most of us including myself feel that we have done is right and there may not be scope improvement.
It is ideal to the check and post in this forum. In blogs at least u can edit afterwards in case u find an error.
have a good day.
