I do not get why people keep talking about the end of the world, i do not believe in it. I was reading a news article where thailand will get a total lunar eclipse of a red moon. People started saying that the bible states that before world end, the moon will turn red and such and there was no use doing anything now in life.
If i was them and i really believed the world was ending, i would make something in my remaining life.
Anyway, what i would like to ask today is that. Do you believe the world is ending?
Why do people think that the world is ending? Please share your views

I believe this is known as the "rapture". There is something i do not understand in christianity, is that if god is known to be kind, why would he only accept those who accept them. I mean we could be born into a family, and given a faith. Does that mean we are born into going to hell? How is this in god kind?
Just a friendly view of mine.

I don't think that the world will last forever, however I am perfectly certain that it will not end in any of our lifetimes. There have been so many stories about the world ending on certain days through the years, and none of these stories have actually come to anything as it turns out. We as humans have to try to rise above such stories and remember that the Earth will most likely remain intact for thousands of years to come; so all of these stories about the world coming to an end are either made up or greatly exaggerated.

end of the humans i think, not for the end of the world....
races of Dinosaurs are gone...
races of Humans are gone too...
a new races will come, more smarter than the Dinosaurs and Humans....
a new races that can think extremely smart....
a new races that can travel from planet to planet not by speed of light but traveling by dividing the matrix of space....

I believe that the world will end only when the sun depletes it minerals. This will happens in million of years. I believe by the time then, scientists would have already found out how to prevent this surely, given so much time. I mean look at how much science have improved over a century, given millions of years, the future looks unpredictable. Maybe we could travel to another universe by train in the future.

I don't believe that the world is ending in any way, shape or form. I do however think that there might be more to explore about this world and the way we live in it and share information.
The best place for information as to why people think the world is ending and why they believe it is, is on a site called Above Top Secret. I came across it a couple of years ago and it makes for fascinating reading. It gives you a great insight as to why people believe what they do and what they do about that in practice.
Hope that helps.

I don't bilieve the earth will end,and I think we can't see the end of the world. However,we human beings are facing great danger. The danger comes from ourselves. As an ordinary person,I can't imagine how much polluted gas is being given off into the air every day, how much wasted water is being poured directly into rivers and seas,or how many trees are being cut down.Though most of us know we are facing the danger made by ourselves, how many of us are taking some actions? So I'd rather say we humans are facing danger than talk about the end of the world.

Yes, something have to be done to raise the awareness so that we humans stop this bad habits. We have to start from ourselves. Hopefully we could then influence the people around us.

Yes I believe in it that world will be ended. But I don’t believe in it that world will be ended till 2012. I think how we can imagine that it is true that world will be ended through 2012. I think it is very difficult to say that when it will be destroyed. I think it is depend on god. Because god created us and whole creature. And if we play with our creature then she punished us by some naturally disaster. I think there is enough time when this world will be ended.

People have reasoned that the world is ending as there is more disasters happening nowadays. I do not think so. This disasters are happening because of us humans, our pollution which results in climate change. I do not think that this is right, but is not possible to wipe out the human race so easily.
I do not know why humans keep talking about the end of world, i will never admit that the world is ending, there are many things i would want to do with my life. I will live and not listen to any of this, most of the time, it is not true.

Yes I believe that the world is ending sooner. According to the Bible, in the last days, some will abandon their faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by the demons, that is why though people know that God will nearly come, they continue to sin. All signs are already revealed with disasters, increasing crime and others.

No, the Bible says that the earth is round and not flat. According to Isaiah 40:20 He sits enthroned above the CIRCLE OF THE EARTH, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spread them out like a tent to live in. Proverbs 8:27 says I was there when he sets the heaven in place, when he marked out the HORIZON on the face of the deep. Also in Acts 1:8, Jesus said "in the uttermost PART" means only single, the spheroidal earth would have only one uttermost part, its opposite side or antipodes. If its "PARTS" that would mean that the earth is flat but the bible did said that. Thus, the bible does not teach the the earth is flat.

I have nothing against your faith but i think that the bible is very contradicting.
It might be true, but not all of it. One example on how it is false is that it refers to the earth as flat. Would love to see your argument to this.

Yes good point anyway. What's the point of worrying about the world ending, when everyones life have to end one day. It is just a matter of accepting it.

I don't believe that the world is gonna end soon. People like being prepared and if the world is gonna end they wanna know, or they wanna make money on other people that believe the world is gonna end :)
I know that there are many option to the world end, like Izanami, Iran nuclear weapon, melting icebergs...
But i believe we still have time her and there will be solution to any one of those solution, and if not we will fly and live on the moon :)

No, THE world never ends. Your world, maybe; my world, maybe; every human-being's world, maybe. They all DO end, just not at the same time. And "there are levels of survival to which we are willing to lower ourselves." (The Architect from MATRIX RELOADED)
For the children, we invented a Paradise for them to believe that the grave-sleepers are happy. Eventually, I'll grow up and will KNOW that they are happy ... sleeping there until Jesus Von Frankenstein digs them up and sends them into outer space, where they'll happily sleep until something wakes them up

I don't believe the world is ending. But what I believe is that the human has turned so dangerous that I don't see as impossible the destruction of this system we are living right now. Any how, If something of that nature is going to happen someday, I don't think that somebody knows when is going to be this.

"The destruction of this system we are living right now" that is an interesting phrasing of things.
The earth will never end. But systems or ways of doing things change all the time. It is time to change many systems on the earth. The job is more than man can handle, the right and fair and loving way. God will step in:
2 Peter 3:13 New Living Translation (NLT) 13 But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.
The time is near, because of necessity and schedule, but only God knows the day and hour. With the right attitude, it won't matter when it actually happens. All is well, all is on schedule.

The Word Apocalypse means Great Change and that may happen on the Winder Solstice for December 21st, 2012. As a Certain Celestial Line Up of the Planets. Which may force a Change in the Earths Gravitational Field. it may Happen bit the Earth will not End but maybe a Big Change may Occur. Perhaps No Change will Happen but the Planets will Line Up a certain way on that Date. Only Time will Tell and maybe We can Prevent that Change in the Earth in some Way.

if you only listen to that people who kept talking that the world earth will end seems shows that they want it to end...
there is no reason for the world will end.... the only nearest answer to the world will end if waiting for the next 4 million years maybe the world will end...
myth is not the key to know how and when the world will end....

I think that everything is in mind, we are always affected by what we hear, no doubt about it. Yes our world will only end when the sun depletes it's minerals and there is the black hole. Thats in my opinion. If myth is not they key, let's hope for some scientific reasonings on when the world will end

Why worry about things that may or may not happen? I may die tomorrow. Does that mean that I stop living today. Forget about what is going to happen and whether it is going to happen. Live your life to the fullest today, so that if and when it happens, you have no regrets.

There have been profits of doom saying that the world is ending for many hundreds of years, and it hasn't yet. I would go with science more, that says that it will be billions of years before the planet eventually burns out. Existence is more than just living on this planet anyway in my opinion. _Derek

I believe that the world will end --- someday. The bible states that no one knows the day nor the hour only God. We need to be always ready for the judgment day. It may be tomorrow, or it may be a thousand years from now.

When there is a starting point there is always be the end point at last. Same goes to everything. Objects, creatures like us human, animals, plants, stars, planets and even the universe. It will get to the end but we don't know when it will take place and it is not our job to investigate and find the exact day. No one should know when because god knows best~

In my humble opinion, I believe the only way the world is going to end is if some country really screws up and pisses off the wrong people and they end up going overboard on the nukes, if you know what I mean.
There's always the inevitable; the sun imploding and dying as any star does eventually.

I have a hard time believing the world is going to end. There's been so many predictions and yet I'm still alive. I guess we'll just have to see.
