Hello Friends :)
WiFi and Bluetooth both are for wireless connectivity. Now i am not that good with networking. So just want to know that can't we use wifi just like bluetooh.
I mean to say we are sharing files using blueooth quite easily by connecting two bluetooth devices with each other. I know we can do same using wifi devices too. But still I don't able to do that using wifi. I mean I always got stuck because of some ip work for that.
Can anyone explain it little easier that how can we share files via wifi in two wifi devices..???

Wifi and Bluetooth work differently : the way to exchange files with Wifi is to have a FTP server on one device, and at least a FTP client on the other device. I am -- was : I prefer to use a cloud computing service which syncs files on both devices now -- by example using PureFTPd on my Linux netbook and Mocha ftp server on my Windows phone. I have assigned a fixed IP on the router to each Wifi device on the LAN to connect them without to have to check their IP.

With a FTP client/server connection, you don't need to be connected to internet to exchange files with Wifi on your local area network. You can install Filezilla ftp server on Windows, but you will need a FTP client on your Iphone, and I am not sure you will find a free one.
If you want an easiest solution using Internet, sign up for a free Dropbox account : it creates a "Dropbox" directory, and each file dropped in this directory is mirrored/synced in any other of your devices equipped with Dropbox when it is connected with the internet. I have just checked and there is a free client for the Iphone.

What you have to do is to go to your device, for instance if you have a ipad, or iphone to the system preferences and enter your name and password that you use on your regular wi-fi on your computer. Then you can share. I do not know how to set it up originally. As if you are visiting a relative or a close friend, you can ask them to set up their id and password so you can share between you, but it has to be someone you trust and who trusts you.

The only way is to send a file like a word or a pdf by mailing it to another email and opening that on the iohone. It also has to be compatible. I know there is an application that can open it through itunes, but that is not a free application. There is one that puts it on either ibook or ipod but it is still on your email, and if you delete that particular emaail, the file is gone.

I love taking advantage of the wifi connection because it covers a large range, whereas bluetooth connection is within 10 meters only. Besides, the connection speed is faster. Unfortunately it seems that most wifi connection set passwords already. This is why we can't access to it. And therefore we can't send files to each other due to no wifi connection.
I love China

Some Wifi devices allow this one but most don't. There are some third party softwares though that cater for the ones that don't allow it.
But in the near future maybe a month or so, that feature would be a norm because it is just a software upgrade anyway.

i will explain it to you in a simple way:
for your question..the answer is yes. we can use wifi jst like bluetoot..
for devices with bluetooth. example.. 2 laptops with bluetooth..
you can connect the two by simply switching on their bluetooth..then search for each other..when found..connect the two..you can now share files..
for wifi... there are 3 devices involve in sharing files..
1. laptop1
2. laptop2
3. wireless router
switch on the wireless router, this is the device use to connect the two laptops.
the two laptops will now be searching for the wireless router..if found..connect toe the router..and the two laptops are now ready for file sharing...

I think you can use Wi-Fi just like Bluetooth. But for this you can get permission of the Wi-Fi owner. Because there are many security software comes which don’t allow a user can use another persons Wi-Fi. Because when a company provides their Wi-Fi connection to a user then he also gives him security for unauthorized access means they install software on a user’s laptop or desktop which enables security and another person don’t use their Wi-Fi until he/she allows you by their security.

Yes.. i am aware with that fact. And it is the same with bluetooth too. I mean without owners permission we can't connect two device with bluetooth too. But in bluetooth we can see another device in range straight away and with permission we can send or receive directly.. But with wifi its not that easy. I mean we just on the wifi of two device and its not like we can directly send files in each other.
