Thank you Bryanx54 for responding. I would respect my friend too, but I will let it be known that I don't want to here little remarks such as the one that was made here that day.

What is it that makes you disagree with his claims? Do you have proof that god exists and that he created the earth in seven days or something?

I saw one of the tags for this is 'typical arrogance'... Are you sure it shouldn't be 'typical religious close-mindedness' or 'refusal to accept others' beliefs' or something like that?

I believe the atheist is just as guilty of the'refusal to accept others' beliefs' or something like that?
I mean, when you get right down to it, they are everybit as intolerant of Christians as they claim Christians are of them. Why else post their disagreements as they do, in the form of insults rather than intelligent rebuttal?

Please tell me you're joking. The fact that things exist means that there must be a god? & What a load of rubbish...
As examples.

I allow people to believe what they want. I just think their reasoning is questionable. Stating that the existence of things in the world is undeniable proof that god exists is not exactly a watertight argument, don't you agree?
Was I the one that said I would remove anyone from my friends list that didn't believe in god? I'm happy to be friends with people that believe in god, I just don't like it when they try and impose their beliefs on others. I haven't told anyone they shouldn't believe something, just that I disagree with them.

Thank you Hatley for responding. Someone else started this discussion sometime ago. So I decided to start one to just let it be known that I don't want to be friends with no body that would say things like that.

Welcome! I don't think this is an appropiate discussion for someone who believes in God. He loves all humans even one's that have stumbled. He lifts them back up. I'm sure you should be feeling His power rain down on you at this very moment. Please remember the best way to lead is by example. Not by a negative discussion. I would be very surprised if you didn't receive a ton of responses to your dicussion. Just like this one. Have a good day. Best Wishes!

Thank you responding SSWALLACE... I happened to agree with you. BUTTTT I was also responding to what had been posted already. I am sorry if you don't agree. That is why I always say, if you have something to say...say it. I do not feel that I did anything wrong, but if you feel so, I DO apologize. All on the same token, if I offended you that bad, then you could have not said anything. SORRY.

You didn't offend me at all. I just thought the topic should have been address in a different manner. We all have our belief and we should be accepting of each person as individuals not as believer or disbelievers. Best Wishes!

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't tolerance a part of Christianity? I also believe Matthew said something along the lines of do not judge or you will be judged back. Your job as a follower of the Christian faith is to demonstrate love, not casting aside people because they don't share the same belief that you do. You should put conditions or judgments on your love. You should love your fellow man, not abandon him. That is the most important thing in life.
I cannot even fathom disliking someone for their beliefs. That's preposterous. For such a trivial thing as well. I hate to break it to you, but the idea of god is one of the most complex out there and god to one person is not the same to another.
Would you tell someone of another faith to excuse themselves from your friendlist, seeing how their god wouldn't necessarily be your god? Because that's just as absurd.
Please take this into consideration and let love into your heart for everyone.

Wow. I am shocked at your hateful, negative attitude. Is this how God would want you to act? Last I heard, the Bible taught that love was above all things. You're not better than anyone. You are free to think or act like you are, but you aren't going to make many friends that way. Namaste.

So how are you going to be the light that Jesus says you should be if you don't associate with people who don't believe? Just wondering?
I do think that sometimes it is advisable not to keep company with those who mock God and who glorify sin, but even then a strong in the faith believer can still show them by example. Those who are merely unbelievers and who pose no harm to our spiritual safety, I think those are the very ones we need to befriend and love. After all, how will they ever come to see the love of God if believers shun them?
