does egypt has the right to lay claim to the river nile and all its resources?

One of Africa's longest river is now at the centre of a row over ownership and control. This rivers stretched from Egypt to Sudan,Ethiopia,Uganda,Kenya,Rwanda, and Tanzania. Interestingly,Egypt has always been in control of this rivers and they have been claiming ownership of the river. They describe the nile as Gods gift to Egypt. However, the other countries that this river passes their territory such as Sudan, Ethiopia,Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania are calling for a new sharing formula for the resources of the nile. They infact want a greater share of this river. But Egypt and Sudan who seem to have the river also in their domain do not agree with the views of the other nation. Historically speaking, the former colonial rulers who control the Nile such as the British put control of this river under the care of the Egyptians for reasons best known to them. However, the other countries who also claim ownership of the river are asserting that present day realities demands that the ownership should be redefined on the basis of fairness and truth. What is your view on the conflict or misunderstanding surrounding the nile? what do you think can be done to resolve this conflict that has historical background? Most of us have read about the river nile in the new testament of the holy bible especially Moses and king pharoahs. Now who actually owned the Nile? Don't you think modern day reality has opened the need to review it ownership?

the way I see it any of the countries around Nile have used it to some degree being such a long stretched river as it is anyone that claims it will be able to tax everyone else for using it and that's probably the very reason politicians want to claim it what's next? claiming ownership of a certain sea? I keep hearing that water is the next oil but never thought it would be this far
