Not going to the gym on our arranged days

A couple of weeks ago I decided to join a gym, my best friend and has wife had been going to said gym for a few weeks before that that so we decided to go together every other day.
This has been happening and I have been every time although they have had to cancel on 2 or 3 occasions due to unforeseen circumstances.
I am thoroughly enjoying the gym and am thinking of going every day to do some cardio and still keeping our every other day routine but my friend and his wife feel this is unacceptable as we had an agreement to go every other day (they have children so are unable to go every day)
I fail to see their point and feel that I am still keeping our original agreement and it should be up to me if I want to go more often than that.
Am I in the wrong here?

I think if they are your friends they SHOULD wish you the best and agree that they can't be the one's controlling whatever it is that you want to do.
If they can't assist everyday because of justified reasons, but you are able to go and want to go more often, not necessarily just the days they can, what is the big deal? If you can go some other days as you say to do some cardio, whatever, what is the problem with your so called buddies?
After this, what? then they may want to know what you are eating and if they don't like that food they'll be upset with you as well?
You do whatever works for you, it is not affecting anybody else.

Hi and thanks for your response on this, I have recently discussed this with my friend and said how it annoyed me slightly. He said it is due to his competitive streak, he wants to be there lifting more than me, now I understand why he acted the way he did and to give him his due he is lifting almost twice as much as me.
Cheers
