I was looking up a cple things online and came across an article some one wrote about the dollar store. Pretty much they bashed it. If the dollar store had feelings it would have felt like the scum of the earth. I personally enjoy the dollar store. I have found some great things for a buck. I really enjoy getting party stuff there. Instead of buying the expensive 8 pack of character plates I color cordinate to my kids party. I have also bought snacks there, prizes, drinks, shampoo, bodywash, ahnd sanitizer, etc. Somethings I dont buy there, but pretty much it can help you save a lot of money. Unlike the woman in the article I dont feel like its a walk of shame leaving the dollar store. I many coming and going from all walks of life. What is there to be ashamed about for saving money?

I go to dollar stores quite often, as a matter of fact. There are a number of dollar stores in the city here, and they are just marvellous, carrying a huge variety of very useful items. The quality of the things they sell are also quite good, and very much worth the price.

I love the dollar store and I have no shame in saying that. It is not unusual to find myself spending $60 in one visit. As an artist, I am able to find a wealth of art supplies that would otherwise be out of a range that I could afford. Obviously, the author of this article doesn't have to worry so much about managing money. If you have got money to burn, I guess you spend it everywhere. Really, should we be ashamed for being savvy consumers? No, I don't think so.

Hi. tink91879. I would not pay any attention to this woman's complaint about the dollar store. It is obvious that she has had a bad situation with them, but that does not mean that we should change our minds about shopping at the dollar store. I myself, personally, love to shop at the Dollar Store. I normally go there when I am low on in cash. I have bought carpet freshener, party napkins, plastic neon pink and purple cups. I have also bought, gift bags, greeting cards, pencils, pens, stationery, games, toys, shampoo, perfume, hair grease, toothbrushes, food, drinks, candy, household goods, hair accessories, shirts, socks and many other items from this Dollar Store. I will not stop shopping here for anything. The Dollar Store has some very useful items that are cheap and very helpful for me when I need them.

I have great memories of visiting the Dollar Store when my daughter was working in N.C. I loved it and what I especially liked was the fact that you could group a few items together to make a really attractive gift. We do not have anything like it where I live. In the U.K. they have the pound store and I went there last year and bought so many gifts for Christmas. They are both good and we just love to get a bargain don't we? finally, thee are problems in most countries re the economy and things are and where I live too. there is nothing shameful about saving money!!

oh maybe that woman is a SNOB. poor her.. even if i were a rich person, i would be glad to save money buying things like party stuffs or hand soap in dollar stores.
you're right. there is nothing to be ashamed to save money. and if we pay attention to rich people: they will want to save money in dollar store rather than buy more-expensive same things in more exclusive department store.

I love the Dollar Store. I have been able to get cleaning supplies, toilettries and toys for my kids for only $1 each! Heck yeah I am going to support that store. I am a mother of three girls with only my husband working a roofing job. We need to save as much cash as possible. And there is nothing cheap about their products. I always get my Ajax dish soap from there and I can get many not so well known brand products that work just as good as popular name brands. Anyone who bashes this store clearly hasnt had to save a dollar.

The dollar store I think is one of the greatest inventions in the world when you really think about it. I have three on various paths that I tend to travel. Including one in rather decent walking distance from my house. There are times where I just step in to see what they have. Granted, there are times where there is not going to be products that are going to be all great, because its the dollar store, and there are just going to not be the same quality that one would expect from a regular store. That much is for sure.
However, there are many times where I have had found some deals. There are times where I have found some socks, which means I don't have to run into town to get socks. Also there have been times where I found DVDs of old favorites and a while ago, I found a full sized bath mat. Plus some towels, never seem to have enough of those. Granted, there are a lot of times where you get what you pay for at the dollar store, but that's just the way life works. Still a great place for sure to shop from time to time.

Oh, I love dollar stores!
They have so many useful things that many people need, but dread having to buy. Like cleaning supplies and personal products... things that you wish you didn't have to spend your money on, but you have to.
So, overall, I think dollar stores are great. BUT, there is one thing I do not like about dollar stores. Some of their items are not good quality, and they break soon after you buy them. Of course, I do not expect top notch quality items for only a dollar... but I only buy certain things from dollar stores.
