It is never wise to compare ourselves with others because as it has been written,"there will always be greater and lesser persons than ourselves". As we travel life's highway let's try working with ourselves, that we may always feel today that we have improved in some way over yesterday. Do you agree?

There's no one else like me. That's both a good thing and a bad thing at the same time!
What would it be - jealousy or condescension? Comparing yourself to others must be one of these 'sins'.
I don't agree with improving oneself all the time. I don't regret my mistakes!

Hi petersum, I agree that we are all unique and their is no need for jealousy. It is pointless to regret our mistakes, as it was something that we needed to experience, and whether we know it or not, that experience had an affect on us. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Blessings.

hey Pose, you say that we should never compare but the comparison becomes inevitable with the human race. The competition makes it all the more important to compare with each other. If we are trying to improve our self then we need to continuously evaluate and compare it to some set parameters which mostly is done by taking a cue from others. So it can't be said that we should not compare. Actually the comparison should not be forced upon anyone.

Hi pose,
Say ego, superiority complex or inferiority complex pop up from this comparison. I believe almost all people at one point or the other or knowingly or unknowingly we compare ourselves.
This comparison usually is more prominent among the teen aged ones.
I agree all people are not same some are high in their intellectual level and some others are not. some others are dull headed. This difference and comparison is a natural process for if all men and all women had to be of same caliber who would listen whom and the life would simply be impossible.
My point now is I do not compare but try to upgrade myself, as you said the today is better than the yesterday. And one can go on with such notion he/she is a happy person.

No I never compare myself to others. Because I know it is not good and also if I doing this then I have no value of myself in my way. So I always try to improve myself not compare. I think I make some improvement in myself then it would be good for me. And also my value is superior in my own way. Every person comes in this world without any thing and he getting everything in this world by his/her hard working.

Hi
Sorry, my dear friend, I am not agree with you. comparison Tell you where you have to improve to become better. If some one asking wich place do prefered to go in holiday. You tell some place which you like. If some one tell another place then you start counting advantage of your place. What you do here compared one place to another place. Lets take 2nd example. Suppose your fried and you are going to take interview for a job. Your friend is selected and you are not. Then what will you do. You start compare to your good thing and bad thing to improve your interview

Hi pro_ojha, It is often good to disagree on some things and we all have a right to our opinion. I fee that when we compare ourselves to others we become either vain or bitter. It isn't necessary to make such comparisons as we are all different and need different experiences. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Blessings.

I only compare myself to others when I know I will come out on top! :)
I think it is good to make comparisons as long as we do it in a positive way.

Hi Pose: I completely agree with this tatement. I try my best not to compare myself with other for the reason you have mentioned. When I watch someone who is better than me, I try to llok at him/her as an inspiration to keep working but the bi challenge is with me to keep growing up on the different areas of my personality and professional skills, not in relation with others.

Hi starsailover, We must remember that we are all special in our own way, and we have to be ourselves. It is fine to admire people for the things they've done but we can also be as great as we want to be using the talents that uniquely ours. Thanks for your comments. Blessings.

I got one of my friend told me if its stupid if you compare yourself with other but there is only two result you are become snob and the other made you loose your confidence.
I find its quite true and its better to feel grateful for what we had. One thing I learn no one problem proof in this world even the person we think perfect and ultra beautiful. They had they own burden even maybe harder than us.

No friend I never compare with others. Because I want to pay the attention on myself and check what is doing me than what is doing others. I will check my capability and capacity without compare with others. But I observed many people are compare themselves with others they always tell I am so and so and the other is not etc etc. I hate this type of activity.

I completely agree with you here. We don't need to compare ourselves to others. We are all different and unique in our own ways. Even twins have their differences. Nobody can be truly alike in the same way and fashion.
You are also absolutely right about self improvement. We just need to be better versions of ourselves and not anybody else. Let's love ourselves :)

I guess I don't agree with this 100%. It's because I make it a point to compare myself to others to motivate me. Whenever I see someone better than me, I try to increase my effort to be on par with that person. I am a really competitive guy. If our comparison is too far apart, I see it as a challenge to further improve myself. Also, I do comparison to sometimes get my self esteem and confidence up. Comparing with a lesser person is one way of assuring myself that I am good. Well that's just me.

Hi AgentGulaman, The fact is there are no greater or lesser people than us, it's all in our way of thinking. In the same way, people aren't good and bad but just different as we all have both light and darkness in us. If we think we are better than another, we become proud, if we feel that others are better than us, our self-esteem suffers. Always try to be a better and brighter person than you were yesterday. Blessings.

No I not like compare myself with others or other with myself. Everyone is good on their post and in their life. We cant say I am the best or they are the best. Everyone is important for their friends or family members like me.

Unfortunatly in our culture we are compared to each other from birth. There are even normal weights for children at certian ages. When we go the school it's even worse, there are always those at the top of the class, middle and bottom. Almost any social thing we do is compared to how others do it. No wonder it's so hard to mature enough to be responsible only to ourselves and judge ourselves according.

Yeah, unfortunately I also compare myself to others, and sometimes it makes me feel bad about myself.. Since when someone is greater than me, I feel like I should also improve and be like them; but when someone is lesser than me, I feel that I should help them.. I should just really stop comparing myself to everyone.

Agree! It is normal to compare ourselves to others. It is not insecurity but a comparison and finding out on what we must improve.
Learn from our mistakes and experience in life. We cant never know that we learn a lot if we will never use it. We improved if we realized it. Appreciate the things as our past and learn from it.
Improving is part of aiming high. We will never notice change if we don't want to improve.

I agree, it is never wise to compare yourself with others. Basically, it is just a way of questioning your self, and also a way of questioning your confidence. And everyone can agree self confidence is important in ones life.
Though as i wonder about your question, I though that comparing yourself to others may also be positive. It many result yourself to assert a challenge. And with challenges in life that ones strive to defeat, comes with success.
But yes, people should never compare themselves to others, unless you have a personal goal on becoming better than others. If you are just comparing yourself via appearance. Then its definitely the wrong idea.

Hi way2vision, It's OK to admire others and learn from them but not to compare ourselves to them. We are all unique individuals and have the ability to be or do anything that we desire but we are not another, we can only be ourselves. Don't make it a goal to be better than someone else but rather to be the best you possible. Thank you for responding. Blessings.
