Do you do part-time or temp work? If yes, why?

So many people work a second or third job just to make ends meet or to pay down bills so they can someday look forward to easier times. I work as an elections inspector during local elections - - its brief work and the pay is good and I do it to pay off an old debt a little faster. How about you? I am looking to get some ideas for my blog on Job Hunting Flight School and your answers would be appreciated.

My mother and brother did elections. My mother stopped but I think my brother still does it. I temped when I got out of college. I had a long assignment at a bank for about nine months. It was an easy job. I had a few more assignments after that. In general I didn't like temping partly because it didn't have benefits but it was very flexible and they paid every week. I would go back to temping if I had too. I need a second job because I need money but because of my full time job schedule it's very hard to get a second job. I make a little online but it's very little but every bit helps.

I KNOW what you mean. I am making a few bucks through blogging and writing on the net. Recently staqrted a International Writers Club to help each other make more money... please see my profile for more on that. Elections work is spotty but reliable and is a social vacation from my 'day job'.

Well.. I do work on odesk.. I got a pretty nice job in there which pays me $2.00 per hour. And I also have job posting work. And an upcoming article writing job for $100 a month. But I just had them all yesterday so I haven't got my payments yet. I really need part time right now. My mom is sick and my 2 younger brothers are studying and my dad seldom gets a job. I've been a year at my current job which pays around $325 a month but I still don't get to buy myself things that I wanted. So I really need these jobs.

Currently no I dont do either. However in the past I have held several jobs at the same time. I was a full time camp counselor and a receptionist for awhile. It was a lot of work to hold down two jobs but the money was worth it. Right now I am currently unemployed by choice since my husband is in the military and we are constantly moving. I am hoping to get a job when he gets out in a couple of years.

I only 1 work - full time. I don't earn that much, but it is a stable job. I'm planning to study/attend a beading/accessory making workshop. That will be my 'part time' work. I could do it at home, so I wouldn't have any problem with my time. I'm looking forward at Christmas, that is why I'm planning to attend to one soon.

I work part-time, but it's not by choice. It's only because it's the only work I could get. However, I'm still looking so hopefully I'll be able to get a full-time job soon. Happy mylotting!

I am a freelancer. When there is work I will go there to work to make some money. Or else said I am unemployed. I have work for 10 years and I consider all the jobs that I hang on to less than 2 months is a freelance job. I just can't stay long in one place. Do you think I am a freelancer?

Why not? If it doesn't interrupt your daily life too much and it isn't TOO much working, why not? I've only had one seasonal job, at Macy's, during the holiday season... That was just to make some extra spending/Christmas money. And it worked pretty well, ended up working an extra 25-30 hours a week on top of the other job I had. It was nice to have that extra spending money, but not to make a long-term commitment with a company.

yeah...having an extra or part time jobs can really help the financial status of a person. because not all the time we can find a regular or for good work most and some people experienced the temporary work. and having no work can give a hard time with regards to our living. i work before as admin. assistant but it was not for good the contract ends for 3 months only and until now i didn't find any job yet and im doin some online jobs in order to earn.
