Dell Inspiron 1100..

Hi guys thank you for reading this. I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 and I was wondering what can I upgrade on my laptop for better performance? Also does your Inspiron 1100's fan noise get a little too loud after an hour of usage? thank you.

Unlike a desktop, I suppose you cannot do much to upgrade a laptop. And in order to extend (or maintain) the life span of your Dell laptop, you'd better not doing any upgrade. My Dell laptop has very low performance after 2 years of usage. I did not do any upgrade at all but the life span is only 2-3 years. What will happen if you really do your upgrade?
And for the fan problem, is there dust on the fan? You can clean it with cotton pads.
