hi friends Well being is not just an absence of symptomes of desease,it's a deep seated inner feeling of happiness or satisfaction and peace.Just as achieving a toned body takes affort, attaining this level of inner balance too takes hardwork and commitment. Yet it is crucial that we make that effort ,because our state of mind not only colours our enjoyment of life but also directly affects our physical well-being. I would like to ask you, what are doing to stay mentally fit? if you are not doing anything then this my suggession to you please make a time to relax, practise maditation for sometime or listen to music or you may spend sometime with your family and for that you can go to picnic or arrange a small trip.

Well, when I was going to church several times a week, I did alright emotionally, because I had a close relationship with God, read the bible every single day, had friends who were also going to church all the time, and if they were hypocrits, I refused to be around them. I didn't say sinners, I said hypocrits. I haven't been in church for a while. I was very emotionally hurt at the church I was a member of. That really messed me up. Now that I am not in church or in the word continuously, I am taking meds to try to be balanced.

hi my story is also somewhat like yours, from my childhood i was going to church with my neighbour, however while i was 22, one sunday i had been to church for sunday prayer, after prayer father came to me and started inquaring about me he said," i do see you coming this church since long time,if you do believe then why dont convert youself in christian,i will arrenge baptisma for you." his this sentences hurted me and i just replied him," my almighty either your jesus, he do not ask me to convert myself into christian and then come to church then who the hell are you? and it is not written anywhere that only christian can go to church or only hindu can go to temple thsese religions are made my human and i do not bother humans if i am not doing anything wrong." And since that day i stopped going to church, however everyday i do pray at my home.and i dont feel that i have to go church either temple since last seven years i had not been to any temple or church, i believe in,that god is in human and not in idols. thank you have a great day!!!!!

I entirely agree with you.Merely having a good physic is insufficient if the mind is out of control, undisciplined and continualy in a disturbed condition." A healthy mind in a healthy body" is a well known saying and how true it is.A man who has made peace with his mind will always be in a state of bliss and will never be disturbed by any circumsatnce or situation.People search for happiness everywhere except in the place where it is really found, within oneself,ie in the mind.Self realized Yogis who have brought their mind under control and gone beyond it through their practices of Pranayam or breath control and deep meditation have found the peennial fount of peace and happiness in their mind.As for myself i have through 20 odd years of Pranayam and meditation reached that state where no storms disturb my mind and i have reached that state of equanimity even though my body is suffering as i am wheelchair bound permanently with muscular dystrophy for over 20 years. It is my good fortune in having found a guide or Guru who has given me and many others the recipe for true happiness and complete and permanent peace of mind.

You are right ritzz, it is a famous phrase 'a healthy mind and a healthy body'. But people tend to ignore the first part of it, and perform exercises to keep their body fit, but neglect their mind. As for me, I too come under the same category, but when I feel a little tired or exhausted, or if simply my eyes are strain a lot, I close my eyes for ten to fifteen minutes and try to think nothing, leaving my mind blank. It relaxes me a lot but I often get distracted easily within ten minutes or so. Distractions are caused by different types of sounds and noises. Sometimes, bodily sensations like itching in the nose, aching of the hands, irritation in the eyes can also cause distractions. What we need to understand is that Meditation is not an escape from reality. Distractions both inside and outside the mind are part of that reality, so simply observe them, without ignoring or reacting to them. During meditation unpredictable intrusions, interfere and affect ones meditation and the sound deliberately shatters ones tranquility. But remember if anyone reacts to any sound, then they were not in a state of tranquility. In tranquil state the mind accepts the sound simply.

unmh ya agree with you but there is another sayig that practise makes man perfect so practice meditation everyday so slowly this distraction by body will stop and you will be able to concentrate, and this happened while doing meditation becouse we are not habitual to sit without doing anything and while doing meditation we need sit quite without doing anything...
