My office mate was an assisting facilitator of a College Teacher's retreat. She was so disappointed because there were came late, noisy even during session, always going out during session and unruly during meal time. The retreat facilitator instructed them to have an individual reflection but many were in group, laughing loudly in front of the facilitator. There were only few who show self-discipline and professionalism. They are supposed to be good examples. Teachers will get angry when their students are noisy. They got irritated when their students cannot follow simple instruction. But look what they did during a retreat. They became uneducated teachers.

The work environment of teachers is always structured. There are two possibilities why they acted that way - 1) they don't take the activity seriously and/or 2) they are having fun being with their co-teachers. The facilitator's challenge now is to get and keep their attention and cooperation.

Hi. masang. On this discussion, it sounds just like you are referring to the student's, but I see already that you are talking about the teacher's instead. If the teacher's act this way, then they are really unprofessional. A teacher is supposed to carry a certain level of respect for themselves. They should act accordingly to their profession. That is why, I feel that some teacher's don't need to be teaching because teaching is not in their hearts at all.

Maybe they think they're back to their students days (they missed being a students) just kidding.
This only shows that teachers needs some upgrades.
Or maybe they should be given some time to relax too-they don't get enough vacation as far as i know.
And that's the reason why they can't control themselves and misbehave (sad)
I know it's not the proper place for them to do those chatting-but,see...they were not able to behave well and forget their manners (sorry again)
But i see they really need some relaxation.
have a good day always

This is a common condition. One should have a magnetic personality to command respect by the presence rather than having to use severe discipline. The audience will be spellbound whether they be children or a noisy group, what is needed is that a magnetic personality. When that is lacking then there will be a lot of complaints and havoc.
