I am a person that sometime when it is necessary, love to ask questions to the lecturers and tutors. The problem is I found out that one of my classmates does not like it. He says that it is really disturbing his attention towards the lesson. I cannot deny that he is a top scorer student. He is a quiet type of guy. Majority of the lecturers that teach our class will ask him or us why he is so quiet and so on but he himself feel that he is perfect. I don't prejudge him for whatever reason because I accept him for who he is. Am I wrong to ask questions if I feel that I am in doubt towards certain points of the lesson?

Hi alokijan,
Asking questions to get things clear in the class is what we call interactive teaching learning. You are not to be blamed for asking questions. Rather those who keep silence and hardly ask any question or on asking by the teacher/lecturer fail to answer lack knowledge.
About the guy who is top scorer might be a crammer and therefore if somebody asks questions he feels inferior. Do not compromise with any one. After all this is you who is learning with interest.

Your questions in the class should be something to learn better and be useful to all. For example if a lecturer has explained so clearly and majority have comprehended it, then still asking question is an odd. You have to ask questions even to keep the class alive. There are some guys introvert. They must be genius, but they cannot demand their standard to all. So one has to make a proper discernment

If you need to ask a question then ask a question. I don't see why he would think it disruptive.. it's part of the lesson after all.
I'm a person who makes high marks and doesn't say much in class. I just don't have any questions to ask... I can pretty much get everything I think I need to know just from listening. Some students who ask questions bother me a little, because I feel they're either asking something plainly addressed already or something totally non-sequitor that never needed to be asked... but if that's how they learn then I won't complain. He shouldn't complain either.

In my view, it's a good habit that you need to improve. If your friend ask you to stop ask to teacher or feel disturbed, it means that he's jealous.By asking question is not only make you more clever but also increase your confident and tell you the leadership. In school, clever is not enough, you need more active, confidence and brave tp get the knowledge. That's what you and your friend needed.

You are not definitely wrong in asking questions to your teacher about the lesson. each and everyone of us has its own style of learning... and if he's so annoyed of you being attentive in class, well, give him an ear plug... haha Don't mind him, just do whatever that will help you learn in your class... but don't cheat.. hehe

No,It is not that u should not ask questions.you have ask questions to the teacher which you don't understand. If he got disturbed, just forget about him.some students feeling shy to ask questions will also be benifited & motivated by you.
