Have you ever stepped out of your comfort zone to be adventurous in something you never thought you would do? Last year while on vacation in Florida, I went parasailing. My brother and I got on the boat and traveled with 6 or 8 other people to the middle of the ocean. Well, it probably wasn't exactly the middle, but it sure felt like it. On the way out, dolphins were swimming and playing behind our boat. That in itself was awesome. But when the boat finally stopped, my brother and I were the first of the group to go parasailing. My brother had done it before and said how fun it was. I couldn't be so sure, but he assured me that it would be fun. With my hands sweating and heart pounding, we started the adventure and he wasn't kidding. It was so fun being close to 800 feet in the air and looking down with only a bar and straps keeping you from falling. Not only was it fun for me, but I stepped out of my comfort zone to be adventurous. What have you stepped out of your comfort zone to do that was adventurous and you thought you would never do?

parasailing sounds fun!
i'm basically a homebody but i do enjoy nature trips like camping, long treks up the mountain and volcano and be rewarded with magnificent views. one of the things i did that is really outside my comfort zone is the whaleshark interaction out in the open seas. as i'm not even a swimmer, i was so scared to do it but i didn't want to waste the opportunity. it was fun!
another thing that i learned to embrace as i stepped out of my comfort zone is becoming a speaker. i'm just really a quiet introvert but my work has plunged me in deep to speaking to crowds. now, nobody believes that i'm shy around people. when way back in my teens, i just stayed cooped up in the bedroom when there are parties and celebrations in the house. i never thought i could speak to large groups either, and each time, with a different crowd, is an adventure in itself.

I trekked a volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii, and that was a big challenge. It's not like it was a smooth path of easy walking. But it was an experience that I am glad I endured. I swam with dolphins on that same trip, but swimming with sharks is something that I would have to seriously think about. I am glad that it was you and not me. Being a speaker does not come easy for many of us, including me. But you are obviously becoming more comfortable with yourself and that is a great skill to have!

there are experiences we are very glad we had endured that turned out to be rewarding.
whalesharks, as they say, are very gentle and they only eat planktons. as far as i was informed, i was in no danger of being part of their meal. hehe but they were really huge, it was still scary. especially when the whaleshark brushed past me.
speaking in front of a big crowd was by no means an overnight thing. it's a long process and until now, i still attend seminars and trainings to enhance and further develop myself. but it comes with the job. and yes, it's something i now enjoy doing. :)

Yes I have steeped out of my comfort zone when i went to a modelling contest where i had to do a photo shoot without clothes so that was the most difficult and daring thing i have ever done but after sometime i enjoyed it.
