I have seen many people suffering from very severe headaches and doing all sorts of things to get rid of it.Some have Migraine headaches which become a constant feature in their lives and they do nothing about it , thinking that there is no cure for it. But I realise now that every kind of headache has a reason and it is very in essential to go to the root of the matter and try to find out why you get it. It can be either due to stress, lack of sleep or over work. It can also be due to high Blood Pressure or other health related matters. It can be due to some internal growth as well....So it is always better to analyse and see why we are suffering from headache and take proper medication. I find acu pressure very helpful.Just pressing the nerve endings on the forehead with my finger tips relieves the pressure and the headache is gone in minutes.. Friends ,Please share your own experiences here ..

Hello kiran. I have migraine headaches almost once a month. When it comes, the only way I can get rid of it is to take one capsule for cold and in a couple of hours it will be gone. The main reason I have a migraine could be related to my not having a good health and having a cold. When I have a cold, a headache or migraine arises. If I don't take a capsule, it will become worse. And if permitted, a good sleep helps a lot. Thank you for your discussion and the tips to us readers and responders. Have a good day, kiran.

Hello Kiran ji, I have not headache problem for 11 years. I forgot how to feel when some one have headache. It is possible with a herbal treatment. Acupressure is help full in headache due to stress or tiredness. Migraine is cure able. If some one have pain in a specific region of head than he must be consult with doctor.

Hi anil,You can cure most headaches through acu pressure. You have to find the right nerve endings above your brows and then press it down several times to release pressure. It is very helpful and also the relief is instant.Massaging the entire forehead and the area above the brows with some herbal oil also is very helpful....If the headache is related to some other major ailment then it is always best to take the advise of a doctor... Have a nice day

If my headache is from sinuses, I take some medicine for that. Mostly I find that if I stay well hydrated and get enough sleep and take vitamines and minerals I do not get bad headaches.

You're right, headaches have a reason, and we can only get rid of them when we know what is the cause of them. In my case I used to suffer a lot of headaches, until I found out that the reason was connected to a different part of my body. Now, in order to get rid of headaches, I need to relax that other part of the body. People tend to abuse painkillers, and that's not the solution, as they can end up being useless.

Hi madteaparty,I agree that there are many reasons why we get headache like in your case.I hope that you are able to find relief when it becomes bad.I have a cousin who suffers from headaches every time she goes to certain place. I feel that it is psychosomatic, related to some other memory that is connected to the place which creates tension in her and brings on a headache...thanks a lot and enjoy your day

Kiranji I agree there are tons of reasons for headache, allopathy advises some painkiller only, homoeopaths give the best medicine after digging the symptoms. I am having mild headache since last 4 days, nothing worked, they gave antibiotics O2 for 3 days, lastly my wife did what you call accupressure, am feeling better now. Thank you so much for this discussion Enjoy life to fullest. Professor ‘*^Bhuwan^*’. .

Hi Professor,Allopathy is the most effective since it relieves pain in minutes whereas homeopathy is the slowest...I believe only in acu pressure and massage which gives instant relief with absolutely no side effects.Once you are able to locate the nerve endings above your brow , you can release the pressure immediately and get relief from any kind of headache and even other aches on other parts of your body...

Hi Kiran! So, what caused your head ache here? Do you also suffer from migraine? As far as I am concerned , I get a severe head ache when I am under stress, go out in the hot sun , am hungry for a long time during summer, eat peanuts [cooked] or sometimes too much of chocolate, lose sleep and get up very early in the morning.I have found preventive measures--for example, I take a banana when I am hungry. THis gives me instant energy with the instant sucrose supply.I take peanuts in small quantities and I take jaggery along to escape the head ache.I am quite conscious of chocolate intake. Lastly, if I have to get up early to take a train or due to some other reason, I pop in a sleeping pill because lack of proper sleep gives me not only headache but also nausea. I sometimes take an antacid also which helps in case of headache caused by acidity. ANd of course, I pop in a pll when I know that I have no time to cajole my headache with bedrest and blinding of curtains for a long while.

Hi kala, yesterday I typed out a response twice and could not post it because there was some problem with the net work here.Hope I get through this time. I have no headache and do not suffer from either migraine or severe headache. However, I have see many people complain about headaches and migraines . One of my friends has had migraine for a long long time. She went to Kerala last summer and there she bought some medicated oil which she uses for massaging her forehead and also she takes a churna made from herbs and roots regularly. She feels that she has really benefited after she started taking those. In my case when I get a headache which is mostly when I go out in the sun or have had little sleep - I do acu pressure and also deep breathing and my headache vanishes in minutes. I have not taken tablets or pills in a long time now...Have a lovely weekend kala

Tension is the reason for the headache for many people. People get into stress in home and in working place. We have to keep our mind clear and free. Happy environment is necessary. Above all we have to maintain our health with good habits. We have to regulate our bowl habit. I suggest " TRIPHALA " Himalayan Aurvedic Product which strengthen the intestines. This medicine was prescribed by a Senior Doctor in medicine(MD), that has almost relieved me from my headache. It is purely prepared from Natural plants.

If you feel headaches sometimes you are just thirsty. Try to drink more water and later on it will improve until its all gone. And also if you experience it I think there's something wrong on your body. Try to consult the Doctor as soon as possible. Eat healthy foods. It is advisable to have more nutrients and nutrition is very important. If we improve our eating habits it will reflect to us. Good day! God bless!

Hi daiweian, That is a new perspective. Lack of water in our system is bound to affect the bodily functions and nervous system I guess. That's why water is considered to be most essential to us.Eating healthy, doing regular exercise and drinking plenty of water is sure to make us feel fit and I am sure it also helps in keeping most minor ailments like headaches and body aches at bay - thanks a lot and all the best, have a nice weekend

I have suffered from severe headaches back when I was still in high school. It's too severe for me that I literally can't do anything. I can't do my assignments, projects, etc. A lot of times, I have to just stay in bed and pray that it will go away. Ordinary paracetamol won't work and my mom doesn't let me take any other kind of medication because according to her I might develop some sort of "pain killer addiction." The headaches will only stop if I will be able to sleep or if I vomit. So sometimes what I did, I force myself to vomit. I don't know if it is bad, but that's the only time that I will have some sort of relief. It goes for some times, months or maybe even years. I finally decided to go to the doctor and he cannot find anything wrong with me. What he did though, he referred me to an ophthalmologist. And so I scheduled an appointment right way. What the doctor then discovered is that I have astigmatism! Apparently, this eye disorder causes headaches if not directed. I was given prescription glasses that I have to wear religiously. And you know what! It did eventually went away! I still have headaches from time to time but not that severe anymore unlike before I don't have my glasses. Thank God!

Hi leigabs, thanks a lot for your response I am sorry to hear that you have been suffering from severe headaches since a long time. One of my cousins had the same problem and he too got glasses which eventually cured his headaches.I recommend acu pressure to all those who suffer from acute and frequent headaches since t is cost free and has no side effects like medication and is very effective. You just have to press the nerve ends on your forehead several times to release the pressure and your headache vanishes - all the best and happy mylotting

Sometimes it really happens to have headache. And it is not easy if we are experiencing it. For headache we should take some pain relievers and even paracetamol will do for that. If severe headache occurs there must be something wrong for that. So, you should see a doctor for check up and to know more what's the reason behind it. Remember as the saying goes "Prevention is better than cure."

Hi didk,Thanks a lot for your response. I feel that it is not possible nor is it practical to see a doctor each time you get a headache unless it persists and becomes chronic..

Hi kiran, the reasons you mentioned for severe headaches are all correct. Empty bowel also create headache. Acid secretion is one of the causes of headache. So food should be taken timely to get rid of headache. Habit of drinking water for time to time also help to get rid of headache.

Hi bhanu, I guess it also depends on the constitution of a person. But normally fatigue, sleeplessness and stress are known to cause headache when there is no other major health complication...I agree that drinking plenty of water solves many health problems besides keeping us trim and glowing...
