This is a personal matter, but I always wonder at the weddings what do couples want as their first child, a boy or a girl? May be it is because of the fact that I am going to get married soon. Anyway, doesn't this thought spread a smile on your lips? I always have a nice sensation while I think of it. As for us, me and my soon to be wife, have DECIDED that our first child will be a girl! We don't know how it will happen, but we are pretty sure about it! What about you people?

Before I respond your discussion, how can you DECIDE what will the baby's gender will be even before getting married? There may be some cultural beliefs or some scientific explanation about how can a couple choose between having a girl or boy as their newborn. Can you explain to me how are you sure about it? There's a 50/50 chance it will happen once your wife to be gets pregnant, but, how can you be pretty sure as you say?

It's more of a dream than a real decision, you see. We want our first child to be a daughter. She might be our only child. Ya, our desire is so strong that now a days we think that we shall have a baby girl for sure, almost sure that is! That's all. We have thought a name too for her. Except that we do not have anything else in our mind. Some cultural beliefs and medical things regarding this is so horrible. We despise them. If He gives us a boy we shall be equally glad. There will be no dissatisfaction at all. After all, having a baby is the most special thing in the world. However, we pray with all our belief that He bless us with a baby girl! I hope I have answered you. Now, won't you tell about your dream regarding the same?

Ok, you cleared my doubt, it is your dream, your wish, your desire for your child to be a girl, now I get it. It was just the sentences you were using that lead me to think you knew what was going to happen way before it could. Good luck with everything, wish you happiness and joy.

My husband and I got married very quickly an were just enjoying life when we found out we were expecting. I must admit I wanted a girl and he wanted a boy. ... We just knew it was going to be a boy, mu DH even came home with baby boy clothes because he was so excited. We eneded up having a girl and he was still so so so happy, now we only ask for healthy babies!

Hope your daughter is doing well. I'm sure your prayers will be granted. I somehow envy you, for it will take some time for us to have a baby. We are not married yet!

To be honest, since the natural way does not help you predict what you will have, I will be happy if its either. Though having a female as the eldest of the children, can definitely help the male respect women more easily when growing up. Having a male as the eldest on the other hand can offer protection to them, and perhaps if the male grows more maturely, can help the siblings be more mature as well. So both are good, but makes me wonder. I might not be able to open up as easily if i have a daughter first. I mean i wont be able to answer questions or relate to them as easily as their mother would.
