That other country is Vietnam, I believe.
And sorry China, I also believe that under the archipelagic doctrine, the Spratley Islands is ours.

i think the government must resolve the issue through in diplomatic way , we need each other, and lets just pray for the goodness of our country.

No offense to our huge neighbor up there, but Spratley Island is right on the tip of our tail, so it belongs to us. It does not mean that because it is on the China Sea, it is China's. The Philippines is also lying not just on the Pacific Ocean but also on the China Sea. But we are not a part of China.

I guess the only entity that could claim to these islands is God since He made them Himself and nobody ever did. We, humans and nations, are just here trying to claim it becuase of the various advantages the islands can offer.
By the nature and implication of words of the Chinese ambassador, China has been trying to claim these islands as virtue of history. But history changes and the only thing I can think of is that China will use these islands for their one interests. Which is logical and understandable becuase we would likely to do the same thing. However, I think China has more gall than ever since it has become one of the economical and financial giants today.
I cannot help but think that China is like a big bully that tries to reclaim its glory days of dominance and power in the modern setting. For a country and culture that has been around since forever, China cannot seem to go on to modernity and civil ways of conducting things. I wonder if the Chinese warlords of the past approve.
As far as I am concerned, we also have claims. Our claims are as legit as China's. As long as no international body tells us it's not really ours, there 's a chance that it's ours.

If i may not mistaken, this dispute goes for half a century already.
The moment i attended school i already heard and studied about this claims and who legally owns the island.
If i were to be asks,of course i want the island to belong to our country.
have a great weekend
