Gossip in the workplace

I felt anti-social for wanting to get up and leave the lunch table that I had been sharing with my work colleagues. I found it hard to control my emotions of anger as I sat and listened to all the back stabbing and gossip that was being said about certain staff in my work place. I also began to feel uncomfortable by thinking if they are gossiping about others are they also gossiping about me. Does this mean I am becoming paranoid???
