They say life begins at 40 but isn't that when our physical bodies really start falling apart?? Yes, no matter what we try, age catches up with us, however there is something good that happens. The mind reorganizes and becomes more focused due to less sensory input. So often after 40 is when people accomplish the most in life. So what are you waiting for?? There is so much left for you to do!!

Life is a road full of wonders to see every day and at every age. It is also full of ugly things, if you want to set your eyes on that. So it is up to each of us how do we live at each moment of our lives. Who can say when live begins and when it ends!

VERY VERY GOOD!! I like that. We do all have a choice on how we value things. Let's make the wonderful things the most important. That way it will always be good. Life is about living. That is what we should concentrate on. I will find some way to help others even when I hit 110. Just think of all the knowledge and stories I'll have then.

We help in different ways each day. Don´t wait until you are 110. I used to think I would die at 117 years of age, but now I have my doubts. So I work each day a little bit at the freerice site to donate some rice to the 2 billion undernourished people we have in our planet. I don´t think anymore that my beliefs will change the world, but I can put my grain of sand. AND I try to have as much fun as I can.

Well, for me I feel my life really started coming together more around the time I turned 30 as for me that was my wake up call telling me there was more to life than what I was allowing, and if I did not change somethings life was going to be very miserable for me. When I turned 40 it was a good thing even if I got sick not too long after. It has been a time of change and thinking about my future and what I want later on in life as well.

Yes, plan and set goals. Being organized always helps. We can create what we want in life. As you already know, it does take a bit of work.

Yes, that middle aged crazy can turn into a pretty big mess. I can't see much wisdom to that.

I have heard of the saying 'Men get naughty at the age of forty' whatever that means. Coming to your topic it is at this age I think maturity sets in and when that happens sky is the limit for living life to the hilt. There are methods that could keep one's physical health at top gear. Watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSTISHdiEeo and then come back!

I agree that men tend to get naughty at that age. I observed that from my father. The darn old goat started to have mistresses-it caused us much pain, especially to our mother who is suffering from stroke. Its a good thing though that currently he stopped having this vice. Or maybe perhaps he developed a way to hide it effectively? Nonetheless..we still loved him.

Yes, I have seen that video before. It's pretty amazing. Can't let age stop us now, can we, allknowing? sophiecheer, I guess 40 is about the time some men get middle aged crazy. We should all consider what our actions mean to others before we act. There are a whole lot more people than ourselves to consider.

@ sophiecheer - Still loving your father is the anti climax. Keep up the good work. We cannot judge anyone. @bird123 - As long as one is physically active, doing proper exercises one can carry on without remembering how old one is. And about men going astray I suppose that is how many men are.

Physically, there is nothing better than being 19 years old. Wouldn't it be nice to have the wisdom we acquired over the years at that time?? Life is indeed a journey. There is something to learn at every stage.

Yes, that is what life is all about. Don't forget we are also meant to teach others along the way whether we know we are teaching or not. Be brave enough to point others in the right direction once and a while. Sometimes we discover learning in that as well.

Nicely put! I think the best way to live is to remain a learner; a learner with the highest degree of awareness towards every moment of life!

You must share your view with the doom and gloom, complaining people of this world. You have lots to teach. Look around you. There is much for you to do yet.

I agree. By saying life begins, we change the meaning of life as it should be. Something enjoyable. Till then, our studies, marriage, children, children's education, career, etc., keep us breathless. At forty, career gets into auto cruise, and so does marriage. Studies are no longer in picture, and children are on their way out, if not already. We get our first breath, and realize from now on, we can be more relaxed. Honestly, it is more fun after 40. :)

Hi bird: I am 23 at the moment and I am happy with my age. I try to enjoy life as much as I can but I need some stability. For the moment I am more worried about my job and trying to get enough money but if someday I find the perfect job I will dedicated more time for me and in order to learn more things, do things in my free time that will make me feel more good and satisfied with myself. Remember, brains win in the end. You narrow your options to a job. With a wider view you might discover more. What about starting your own business. With a good business model, one might search and find a partner to help with the capital. Enterprising takes brains along with hard work. The potential for reward is greater than simply working for others. We must constantly keep our eyes open for the possibilities. All the secrets of the universe stare us in the face, waiting for us to discover them.

I guess the important thing is not to let age get us down. Got to keep going even if it is a bit slower. Can't forget to share the knowledge you have acquired with others along life's path. You never know when something small will turn into something big for someone else.

Mid life Crisis is what I'd call it. For me it was about finding my true self and "oh boy" I did that. Life begins a new every day you wake up and the older you get the wiser you become. That's what I think!

So you discovered that you really didn't know it all at 20 years old. OK! OK! Life is truly a journey. You are right. There will be learning all along the path. Elderly people hold lots of wisdom. If those 20 year olds would realize that and tap that wisdom, look how many problems they could avoid. Life is a learning experience. Some choose to do it the hard way.
