Tom and Jerry.

I loved this cartoon. Yep, it's pretty violent but it's designed in a way that kids would love and at the same time won't have the chance to practice the acts at home because the stunts are just too impossible to do. Well, there are some that can be done but there's something in it that prevented me (at least) from trying them to my brothers. All in all it's a fun series and would love to watch them over and over again. Of course I'm pertaining to the old series because the new one just got too corny.

Tom and Jerry is definitely my favourite cartoon and the funniest cartoon I have ever watched. Although Tom and Jerry always attack each other with pan, saw, or anything you can imagine, as an audience, you do not usually link it with the concept of "violence". The behaviour of Tom and Jerry in the cartoon only creates some sort of entertaining elements and make us laugh. I think the writer of the article you have mentioned should not be that strict and demanding. He should try to view the cartoon in another angle instead of an "educationist".

I still like those cartoons and never really thought about the violence but you see violence in most cartoons. At least the older ones. Bugs bunny and Elmer Fudd. They are still funny. I think the newer cartoons are much more violent. Like the Simpsons or Ren and Stimpy. It is all good as long as you teach your children that those are just tv shows and doing those things in real life would cause pain and many problems for everyone.

I love to watch Tom & Jelly. Its one of my favorite cartoon. Yes it has many violence but its entertain us to the fullest :-) I do not find any other cartoons interesting like it. Everybody love to watch Tom & Jelly regardless of age- kids, young and old persons!

It is in fact the only cartoon I like. Although I do not watch cartoons nowadays, if I see 'Tom & Jerry' show being shown on some channel while I am channel surfing, I pause and watch the cartoon.

Its not just Tom and Jerry but most of the cartoons are violent..they definately do make us laugh but at times it just depends on how the children take it cause they might just try to enact it in with their friends and it could hurt the others or cause damage..as a matter of fact even WWE is violent and many a times children try to copy their moves on the friends in the real world....thats why we see so many disclaimers when watching WWE not to try it in public...

how does the script write actually do that? i dont see how a cartoon about argurements and fights can be made "non-violent" in the children's minds. not saying that i don't like to watch the show, but it seems impossible to change the image that is shown to the public through script writing methods.

I loved Tom and Jerry... let say they did always figthing but at the end they are still friends its really funny when they fight cos it's only a cartoons and for the children i think they need a guidance of parents when they watching this cartoons...

Hi, I don't like tom and jerry it's pretty boring. But if i watch "the simpson's" version of this that is called "itchy and scratchy". That is funny and violent!!
