If we really don't have to sleep that would be great right? Work like a robot or partying 24/7. Isn't that great? Sleeping is so waste of time.... so if we don't have to sleep we will have an extra 8+ hours to spend. Isn't this awesome?

I guess we would get a lot more done if we didn't sleep, but each day would just run in to the next, I think that would be kind of odd, and make life less exciting. I actually very much enjoy sleeping. I am a very vivid dreamer and I often enjoy most of my dreams. I like sleeping, I hate getting up in the morning, my bed is so nice and cozy.

I happen to enjoy sleep. I don't think it's a waste of time at all. Besides the obvious use of this time to rest and recharge our bodies, sleep is also a great time to sort things out. This is where dreams come in. While we dream, we don't just randomly entertain ourselves with images. We are also sorting out the problems in our waking life and practicing different things.

I am not sure. I think it would be good if we needed less sleep, and that each time we slept we woke up feeling 100% refreshed! And that each time we tried to sleep, we succeeded in sleeping! I think it would be cool if we only needed a few hours. But many would miss their sleep terribly. For some people, sleeping is one of the most joyous activities they know. And they look forward to it, as it kills the stresses of the day, makes the cares and thoughts of the day vanish, gives a new perspective on life, new patience, new hope, new strength. Sleep is one of our greatest pleasures; for many...

Without sleep, we would go crazy. We need it as do all mammals. It's not the sleep but the REM dreaming sleep that recharges us. Even cats and dog dream. There were times when I wished there were more hours in the day. That was when I was so busy that I didn't have time for 8 hours of sleep. 6 was the most I ever got. Some days it was 4. I had every minute of the day scheduled so that I could get some sleep. I was so scheduled that even bodily functions and hygiene were in the schedule. Yup, sitting on the pot was in the schedule it doubled as hair combing time. I did many things 2 or three things at once. Hit the on button for coffee as I was getting up. Coffee pot was on my headboard and ready to go. As the coffee was brewing, I would stick something in the microwave then run to the bathroom as it was heating. Then I threw some clothes on, poured the coffee and grabbed the food and ran. I was up and out of the house in 5 minutes flat. I ate on the run. I didn't have 5 extra minutes to devote to sitting down to eat. I wanted my full 4 hours of sleep. Evenings also was 5 minutes to get ready for bed and the next morning. Thank God now I have time to sleep. I never want to go back to the days when I was working so long and hard I couldn't sleep.

We need to sleep to recharge our energy. But I guess it would be happier if we can recharge our selves by sleeping only 4hrs a day then we will have extra 4hrs for doing more important things. Sleeping makes us healthy also, our body is repairing on its own while we are at rest.
