I used to be very afraid of snakes, but then I got to hold a python and ended up falling in love with them. I got one of my own, his name is Hades and he's a very trusty little fella. Before him, I has a lot of phobias of different animals, but now that I've gotten over my fear of snakes and seen how wonderful they can actually be, it's opened my eyes to a lot of other senseless fears of mine too. For example, before Hades I was always afraid of spiders, and now I realize that most of them are harmless.

My cats influence me a lot, especially my eldest she-cat Minny. I was worried about her health in the winter because she had to be taken to a veterinarian to treat a furuncle on her side. She started to feel badly during the winter in our flat, but when we took her to the country house, she recovered and enjoys staying there a lot. Her son, a beautiful tomcat, just disappeared from our country house one winter already six years ago. I remember I felt depressed for a longer time, but the following year Minny had another kitten, one daughter, who is black and furry and looks like her elder brother who disappeared from us. The tomcat was born in 1996, and his sister in 2006.

Our Llamas have changed our lives. These wonderful animals have taught us so much and over all just made us better people.

I share my life with a naughty, intelligent and funny 4-year-old grey Cockatiel called Seventy. He is so much fun and says his name and around 25 different phrases, as well as whistles and bops to music, especially the theme tune to NCIS! His favourite phrases are: 'Cup of tea! Want some?' and 'Hello, my Sweet!'
He loves to have his head scratched and often sits on my knee, and pushes it under whichever hand is nearest, to force me to tickle him! Smart!

Way back, my dad had always been hesitant with us having a dog to take care of. He's particularly careful to the fact that we might get hurt (by being bitten). After a few months of begging, he'd done some research on the friendliest dogs and decided to buy us a labrador and we named him, Thundr. Haha. Now, Thundr is alive and is well with us for 8 years. When Thundr came, all of us had gained a little bit of sense of responsibility and thoughtfulness. He taught us these things unknowingly and it was pretty much remarkable.

I was a commiment phobe.
A friend sent me to a pet store to pick up something for his Dog. As I walked around I noticed a Sad, skinny looking cat in a cage all alone on a table in the back. The crowd was around the cute puppies that the adoption legue had that day. Anyone watching me would have thought I was crazy, I walked up to the cage and introduced myself to the cat," Hello how are you?" The tag on the cage read My Name is Ollie, Im 4 months old and a very nice cat.
I spent some time petting Ollie, he rubbed and rubbed on my hand. The poor guy was so skinny, looked so sad.
I left the pet store with one Cat, a bag of food, some toys for him and a litter box.
It turned out Ollie was a bit skittish, not so much as to run at every little thing, but as soon as a woman would walk in the room he would run, and any high pitched wistle sounds. I started to put two and two together, his previous owner must have been a female that was less than nice to him.
I worked with him, got him to start coming out around other people, got him to not run everytime a female would show up.
He became a snuggle buddy. however he acts more like a dog, he prefers to be in his own chair next to me than on my lap when I work on the Pc, and follows me from room to room. If hes sleeping, when he notices I have gone in the other room he gets up and moves in that room, finds a comfy spot and curls back up. I think I became his security blanket.
Im ok with that, because he has done so much more for me, I realized it was possible to be loved unconditioanlly, I see it in his eyes, when he wakes up and he sees me he purrs. Its been 5 years now and I lavish him with love everyday. Its the first time I have been abke to keep a pet, as well as the first time I have been able to say I love something. I understand what that means now.
In November I am marrying my old College sweet heart. I dont think that would have been possible had it not been for that sad lonely cat in a random pet store that day.
