Photography to make extra money...

I have a DSLR D5000 Nikon Camera with Standard lens. I want to specialize in professional photography that will enable me to earn extra income during my free time. What do u think is the best photography theme to accomplish my goal?

right now there are things you need to consider if your going to make photography as a sideline for you to earn money. 1. Cosider your equipments. what is the capability of your equipment? because if your using a standard kit lens you can't shoot wildlife. If your going to shoot for concerts and any indoor events you need flash or higher ISO camera or a lens with wide opening. 2. If you are a beginner in photography first thing to do is to attend seminars, funshoot and etc. You need to explore your camera first. Automatic mode can't always give you the result you want. Do some practice with your dogs, cats, toys, etc. then ask youself. What things i love to shoot? then you now decide

Thank you for your valuable advise. I know I only have a standard lens and without a flash unit yet and I should consider upgrading my equipment soon to be able to expand my capabilities in photography. I'm definitely a beginner in DSRL although I have had some experience with manual SRL before. My biggest obstacle is how to explore my camera to the fullest as I don't have anyone to teach me full time. I think this should be my priority first before determining my real subject interest and specialize in this field.

sometimes you dont need a teacher to teach you how to do photography. you can actually learn it on your own. little advice "KEEP SHOOTING"

Whilst searching the Internet I have stumbled across some websites that pay for original photos so it might be worth trying these.
I think another good way to make money would be to do photo shoots for newborn babies as every parent will be willing to pay for these. Also lots of teenage girls are interested in photo shoots so that they can add them to their portfolios and attempt a modelling career because they all idolise Jordon!

Thank you for your comments. Please let me know those sites that pay original photos. Photo shoots of newborn babies would be an interesting subject but I get scared with the delicate nature of these newborns:-) Taking pics of teenage girls may be more attractive. I have to determine first the capabilities of my equipment before I decide what field/subject to specialize.
