I was listening to the radio this morning and one trivia caught my interest. It goes like this "If you would become immortal but have to give up 2 of your senses, what would it be and why? Most of the responders said touch, smell or taste.Another says she would give up her sense of sight and hearing so she will not know what the real world is.Me? I can give up my sense of hearing and touch so I can't feel any pain and I can't hear bad words that can give me negative emotions. What about you?

First off, I don't even want to be immortal. Why would I want to live forever while my loved ones die? Being immortal is bad enough, but now I have to lose 2 senses?! No thanks!
But...if I really had to choose 2 senses to give up, I pick taste and smell. I couldn't imagine living without sight or hearing because I use them so often everyday. Watching TV, listening to music, talking to people, etc. I'd also keep touch because while pain is uncomfortable, there are also pleasant things one could feel....
So that pretty much leaves taste and smell to give up. I'd feel worse without smell though because I love using essential oils, perfumes and scented lotions and candles. Also, it's useful for being about to smell if there is a gas leak or you food is burning. I could survive without taste easier because it's mostly about enjoying food and drinks. And without a sense of taste, maybe I would eat more healthy since all food would be bland.

I would personally give up smell and taste. The reason for this is that they are that I have a real passion for driving, if I were immortal (which I'm quite glad I'm not) then I would still be fully capable of driving without the senses to smell or taste.
