I hate people who blow their cigarette smoke on your face in public places

Lots of people who are smokers are rude. They just blow their smoke in public places even in front of many people, right on their faces. It made me mad that sometimes I reacted and tell them to slow down and blow their smoke somewhere else. Sometimes, I just give them a dirty look to let them know that they are an annoyance to the public. Sometimes, I pretend to to cough covering my face to let them know that they are injecting poison. What about you? do you feel the same? or you just ignore it.

I do hate that too. I wait for the bus a lot and most of he time there are smokers everywhere. Even when I move away from them it seems someone else will come stand by me and start smoking. Smoke really bothers me. There are some who are nice and ask if their smoke is bothering me or walk to a different part of the bus stop. So not all smokers are bad. I look at it this way they have their rights as much as I have mine.Just keep your rights over there and I'll stay here and keep mine

Yes, there are smokers who are courteous enough to ask you if it bothers you but to be fair to everyone in public places, law must provide smokers with segregate place to smoke. Just wish that the are not allowed to smoke in public. Maybe there are cities where, there is a law that people will not smoke in public places and that violators will be fined.

When I could get away from those people I just keep my peace but I remember one time when I was riding a bus going home and the person infront of me was blowing his smoke and it goes directly to my face, I really told him off...I know that you guys would do the same, right?

just look to the structure of the person who smoke... if you think the person is weak.... do scare him and shout to teach him a lesson, it needs a lesson because what he did is an offensive, he is in the right age to know what he did is wrong... he deserves to treat like that.... if you think that the person can fight back or wicked smoker.... just ignore it, anyway, there is still someone who is more aristocrat and more high blood that can teach him a lesson....

Hi celestial! I also hate rude smokers. They don't understand the danger of second hand smoke to other people. Even if they do, they don't take it seriously. Inconsiderate people are really annoying. Well, what I usually do is like you, I give them a dirty look. Sometimes I purposely cough aloud. Sometimes I blurt out "what the hell..?" just to give them a sign that they are being an annoyance to other people. Sometimes I also fan out the smoke by my hand/s. If these inconsiderate smokers happen to be my friends, then I tell them directly to their face that they should be considerate and respect non-smokers.

Hehe. Those who blow smoke directly in other's people faces are rude, I agree. =P If someone smokes in a public place where I am, I usually make a gesture of waving my hand as if to wave away the smoke, cover my nose and mouth, or clear my throat or cough. If I can move myself, I will also move. But if I can't, I hope the smoker will either move or stop smoking.

I totally agree with you. They have to respect others as well. Because not all are smokers. I get pissed every time I encounter one every morning. I don't have a car so i use public transport. Its disgusting that even though they saw you wearing clean clothes and your hair is still wet. Proof that you just took a bath. They don't give a damn and just continue blowing smoke at you. I always cover my face in front of them or sometimes I use a fan to drive away the smoke. And let them feel that there is someone here who don't like to smell grilled in the morning.

In your home you can set whatever rules you want. If you are eating out and the smoke bothers you then go to a restaurant that is smoke free. If you want to change things then tell the management that you will not be doing business with them until they are smoke free. If I own a business shouldn't I be able to decide if people smoke there or not? If you do not like the smoke you are free not to visit my business. Before the government became involved in the smoking bans the Airlines baned smoking. Why did they do this for passenger comfort. They offered a smoking and non smoking sections and soon they had only a few people requesting the smoking and it became unprofitable to fly with empty seats so that made all flights non smoking. If you don't like someone blowing smoke in your face say something in a nice way. Most smokers I know will change direction or try to accommodate you. I am a non smoker and do not like the smell of smoke. I am also a person who does not want the government dictating to me what I can and can not do on private property or even my own property.

hello celestial, You can directly tell them that they should not smoke in public places where there are people around. Here in Manila-every one has the right to stop someone from smoking in public places. They can smoke-provided there is no people around them. Also there is a city ordinance that penalized anyone who smokes in public vehicle and public places. have a great day my friend
