All of us are aware that a sleep is a must. Otherwise some of us may do work for 24 hours. Recently studies have proved that a sleep can help improving your decision making skills. In that study it was found that people learnt games well after having a good sleep.

I agree that sleep is a must to to the human body. It helps relax the body overall. That enhances our working capacity further when we are awake. However, a sound sleep for a few hours is better than a disturbed sleep over small periods. Did you know that one of the most intelligent men on the planet Thomas Alva Edison slept for only one hour everyday. No wonder he achieved so much in life. Imagine the amount of time he had at his disposal.

Hi ravisivan
Sleep certainly rejuvenates one from a long day. I personally cannot take naps at all during the day. Doing so causes me to wake up with such a bad headache. Has been this way for years.
But certainly after a long day, I certainly feel like a brand new person the next day. That with an average of 6 - 7 hours of sleep.

yes. HWG is very very busy. You run twice faster than normal people and you dance always in avatar. YES. SOME people get headaches and it is better for them to avoid naps. have a great day.

Taking naps is like around 20-30 minutes right?? I can't take that too~ I can't go with that shot time of sleep. If I need my sleep hour it should be 4 hours and above. There is no 'nap' or 'naps' in my life dictionary. Every time I try to do that it will only make me sleep more than I should. That 20-30 minutes always turned to 2 hours~hehe~

I play softball for a charity each Wednesday and am known for my speed runs. lol Yeah a small nap would make me really agitated and the headaches that come after really are painful.
So anything under at least 5 hours for me if I plan to lay down and doing so means my day will be gone. lol

I am screwed :O because I love to work at night. So needless to say I don't give time for my brain to have a good night sleep ;)
I read it somewhere that 10 days without sleeping can kill a man faster than a heart stroke.

I can't even go for one day without it, how can they don't have sleep for 10 days?? I will definitely die if it so~
For normal people we can't really control it without the help with other med aid or caffeine to stay awake or to get enough sleep for insomnia people~

10 days a longer period a man can stand. I think people cannot stay without sleeping more than 2/3 days.

We can't work non-stop without take any rest and sleep is part of resting activity.
It is time when the body does most of its repair work- muscle tissue is rebuilt and restored, the of growth hormone etc. I noticed that when I use and spend my day thinking and creating I am very sure it uses up my energy stores. So with sleep I can restoring my mental energy and my mind will stay fresh with new ideas! Meanwhile if I don't get enough sleep it will affect my thinking, personalities and my sense of humor too~

The time we spend sleeping is the time the body uses to heal and rejuvenate itself. The mind takes this time to 'clear the clutter' of the day so to speak. Interesting little side bar, the brain stores everything we see and hear during our waking hours, the mind (subconscious) arranges it in 'retrievable files'.
There are several excellent studies on sleep deprivation available both online and offline. In the past it was known that lack of sleep would make someone vulnerable
both physically and mentally. The Inquisitors of the Inquisition favored sleep deprivation as a means of 'softening up' victims for torture in order to gain a 'confession' more readily.
People have rhythms, these rhythms dictate our body's necessities, such as sleep, food, simple rest etc. The study of sleep and the patterns of the human body and mind is a fascinating subject.

It is true indeed that sleep helps a lot in solving problems. If we get up without enough sleep, we would feel tired without having enough energy and would not find our mind as creative as those days when we have enough sleep. So a good sleep is to some degree a guarantee to enable us to work and study effectively and efficiently. Thanks for your nice discussion, ravisivan.

Many a times absence of sleep will make us not only get tired but will not allow us to think properly to take decisions. Many nights I get up once for passing urine and on many occasions it takes a lot of time to get a sound sleep again. This results in a feeling that I have not slept fully. Thanks for your response. I am happy a person from China is posting response to my discussions. I will also post responses for your discussions.

Thanks for sharing this information. Yes, I think sleep really helps in relaxing our mind and when our mind is relaxed, we can think better and decide properly.
I also experienced when I am lack of sleep, my decision making is very poor. I cannot concentrate well and feel weak.
Sleeping is really a good way to relax our mind and the best medicine for improving our mindset and concentration.
Happy mylotting and God speed!

Yes I agree to it. Myself is a proof of it as I can fully concentrate in my study after a sound sleep. Otherwise, how much I memories things it wont work at all. Sleep is good for every activity to do in our daily life. Its what a human body must required properly like necessity of food for our body functions. Good sleep or on time or sufficient sleeping make us healthy as well as good communicator, problem solver, and everything that link with our brain :-)

Sleep is essential to our body. It helps to repair our body daily functions, reduce toxics from the body and reenergize your systems!
So, YES, it helps in solving problems too. Your mind is better after sleep, PLUS music is on!

So true! I think sleep can definitely help improve decision making skills, hence the very popular idiom "I'll sleep on it." The only problem is my thoughts keep me awake, and at times I find it really hard to fall asleep when I have a lot on my mind.

Yes. this point has been covered by me earlier. As young people --u have friendship, love, affection, boy/girl in ur mind and that will not allow u to sleep. After becoming old, requiring children and managing children will not allow one to sleep. Afterwards business problems will not allow people to get sleep. That is life. continuous film. have a good day.

It is true that sleep can help clear things up. When there's something on my mind, something that's just bothering me, I find that, after a good night's sleep, things seem clearer. And I know that I've talked to friends and family who feel the same way.

thats pretty true. After a good sleep mind is really very fresh. You can easily make any decision with a fresh mind easily. And a fresh mind can learn anything, why only games, easily. And my personal observation is people who take a good sleep are more happy and smarter.

Sound Sleep is must for every person. When a person do not get sound sleep, it shows he has health problem. We in India normally see a hard working person sleep soundly in the street or under a tree.He has a good physique too. To get sound sleep, we should work in many ways. walking, gardening, cycling ,swimming or any work at home which get us tired and on that day we get sound sleep. Also the small exercise make our body healthy.

Physical work and sufficient food will get good sleep. People who work for longer hours sleep well even under difficult conditions. People who do not work hard do not get sleep even in air conditioned rooms. have a good day.

Who doesn't need rest? A few minutes rest can help energize our mind and body. Mental exercise is a torture and once it's burned out, one cannot make good decisions. In fact i notice that when i lack sleep i feel irritated, annoyed and would snap at anybody who comes into my way.
Thus, I agree that nothing is more important than taking a rest and the only way to rest our mind and body is a sound sleep.

That's pretty interesting. I usually wake up feeling in a better mood. I guess that's where the phrase "Sleep on it" came from. I just wish there were more hours in the day for everyone to get a little more sleep. :) haha.
