Do You Have A Smartphone? Would You Buy One?

I'm have an iPhone. I like mostly for its Wifi. I'd like to check my mails, especially when I'm mobile. I also enjoy the games that I can play with my device. I'm happy with its performance. On the other hand, I also have a Nokia, that is not a smartphone, mind you. As long as I receive sms messages and calls, I'm happy with it. So now, my question is, how important is it to have a smartphone anyway? I think it's still all about the hype. It's all the same to me.

I have a blackberry Storm and it was purchased for me from the last company I worked for. Though I do not work there any longer I was able to keep mine. I have been a smartphone user for several years and really do like that I get my emails and can surf the web from virtually anywhere with it. I find it was very useful for the line of work I have always done. On my blackberry I can actually add up to 50 conference calls to create a phone conferencing meeting. In all honesty though if I was to get another phone I perhaps would not mind a simple phone with simply texting too. I can understand many enjoying the surfing, music and videos but since I am not working I really have not been using all the features anymore.

That's nice to hear. My husband's actually thinking of buy and not buying and then buying a smartphone. I keep telling him to just buy one if he wants one. And he keeps telling me that his Ericsson (or jurassic era) still works very well.

I have been a smartphone user since it's been there. It is helpful in my work since it's always a plus to have medical information at my fingertips. Though I also have a phone used for primarily calling.

That's great! I also use my iPhone for Facebook. However, using the computer is still the way to go for me. iPhones have a lot of restrictions when compared to good old PC.

I own 2 smartphones - a Samsung & a Nokia N97...I like both as I can access the web on both but I really want an iphone for a few different reasons...I do prefer a smartphone over a normal phone due to being able to access the web, etc.

I think that's the main reason why I love my iPhone, being connected to the web. And then there are the free games. But we can have this with an iPad or the Tablet now. So I'm still thinking.. if I'm going to buy a new gadget, would I buy a smartphone or would I just stick with my phones and buy tablet instead.

I don't have a smartphone as of this moment. If I will have a lot of money, I think I might get one. But as of this moment, I'm pretty much satisfied with my phone. I just use it for calls and text. I don't use much of my phone lately.

Same here. As long as I can text and call, I don't mind having an average phone. I am not the type who would buy a phone whenever a new model is out in the market. I wouldn't spend much for a cellphone. With all the features that a new phone can have, they will definitely cost you a lot of bucks. It is not only the model that is pricey, even the services will cost you much. I don't want to spend my hard earned money just paying for my telephone bills.

You and I both. I have 2 phones. One's the "traditional" one. I use it just to receive sms and calls. I enjoy the technology that iPhone gives. It's very convenient indeed when we are mobile.

I have an iphone and it is useful. It also depends on whether to go to the Tv and change to the weather channel, search through the net to get a web site with the weather channel, or use the app that is on an iphone. As for mail, I like it when someone else is using the computer, or when I am somewhere with a free wi fi. Not into games, but for practical applicaiions, it is fine. Also if one has an iphone, it also includes an ipod n it, so you can read audio books, rather then having tot buy an extra ipod to do that. The trouble is those people who just buy one for a social status, and they make things hard for the rest of us. I am sure there are those who really could use a smartphone, and yet refuse to buy one because there are some who convince them it is a toy and it is not.

For me it's not as much as a toy but more of a gadget. I use most of my smartphone features that does not involve calling or sending messages. I have my nokia and ericsson phones for that.

I use the ipod on my iphone and I am always checking the weather because it changes so quick here. And since I have all my friends phone numbers on it, it is easier for me to phone them then using an address book or looking up the number in the phone book that does happen with my home phone. I do have a pen drive on it, and it is the one that I as talking about, the free one that I have to upload the document from one email address to another. I would rather get the paid version that allows me to use itunes. It would be easier since the document would be still on my computer document folder.

You seem to be a techie person suspenseful. Now that you've mentioned iPod, I'm thinking of having a iPad one of these days. I wonder if it's worth buying?

I have used the smartphone for several years already. It is so important to have a smartphone because it is useful. It gives me entertainment when I feel bored. It works like a mini computer. I can access to the internet easily by Wifi. And it has many software to support smartphone. I love China

I just bought a T-mobile MyTouch 4g and I really like all that it can do, but my problem is is the typing on it. It's had for me, but otherwise it's a great phone and I really enjoy having access to my emails and Internet.

I would like to get one someday. I have Metro PCS and the web is very limited without a smart phone. Still waiting for them to unveil more phones. I am not impressed with the ones they have so far.

Hi beingwell! No, I don't have smartphone and I would love to have it some day!Hehe~ It is because I want to use it exactly like what I did to my computer~ Anyway I don't think I need a smartphone right now and I am happy with the one I have. I just use my phone for texting and some calls. That is already enough for me~

There's too much gadget to communicate that there's no time to actually do it, especially to the people that matters. How ironic, right?

Of course! That's what I'm saying. Smartphones are phones in the first place. It's good to have internet connections when you're on the move, but why buy a smartphone when you already have one, right? Especially if only for the purpose of the internet. (Well, it's usually the first reason why one would get a smartphone.) Anyway, there are other options like an iTab and tablet.

It's important for me to have a smartphone now that i owned an Iphone. In the past, before smartphone are introduced, i'm content with a basic phone. While now, i'm mostly dependant on the iphone for everything, it's so much convenient, saving me lots of time, instead of waiting to reach home just to be online. Furthermore, it saves me the hassle of carrying a laptop around, when my iphone can do the same thing.

Even with a smartphone, I still prefer working with my laptop. I like typing with a big QWERTY keyboard. I like staring at a bigger computer screen. As for my iPhone though, it's handy because when I am out, it's always there to keep me online.
