Should one expect a reward when doing a good deed?

Hi everyone, it is a normal matter that help others, many people think that conducting a good deed is one way of fulfilling oneself and should have nothing to do with monetary reward, but,there are a great many people presume upon a reward when doing a good deed...should one expect a reward when doing a good deed? share with your ideas and tell about us...

I think people should help others whenever possible without looking for a reward. That should never be your purpose for helping anyone. That being said, I also think some people expect others to help them constantly and in those cases offering something for their time even if it is making them lunch or giving them a small gift should be something you think about.

hi, thank you for your response, and to a certain extent, i am very agree with your point of view, it should be initiated that doing good deeds without looking for a reward...^.^...

We had a discussion in our class last semester and my view was, it should not be like that. You are doing a good deed because you want to and because you believed that it was the right thing to do not because you have to. When you expect a reward, that defeats the purpose of doing the deed.. Because you are doing it, expecting someone would notice you as a good person and give you something in return. Just my two cents.

hi friend, thank you for your good response, i approve of your viewpoint very much, and i believe that it is the correct matter to do a good deed or help others as far as possible, and it will make me happy after doing that...
