Stopping corruption in our country has a very simple solution yet very hard to comply. That is to elect officials wisely but generally there are no wise voters. Only a few is exempted from this. How will we stop now that only a few voters know how to vote. That makes it difficult to comply. You know what? It is already inculcated in the minds of our people. Most of us don't vote without any payment. And that payment ranges from P5 to P2,000.00.

that's very hard to comply. people who have the right to vote, sell their votes to the highest payer and the problem is,the most corrupt candidate pays high.

There should be transparency when it comes to spending of those people in the government. We should monitor all of their financial activity so that we would know where that money goes.

We can discuss every potential solution of every kind and we may not come to a single conclusion. Corruption is a very complex culture and situation and there is no single solution to the problem. it doesn't help that people don't want to talk about about it, the government is trying not their best to destroy or eliminate it completely and everyone doesn't remain vigilant. We can debate, share ideas but nothing is more effective than positive action and will to overcome. There is no instant solution for this kind of problem since it has its own system and culture. Also, politicians benefit from it so they won't let it go without a fight. For some people, ignoring ti is the best thing to do. As the saying goes, 'if you can't fight it, join the club.'

i guess some people are right, if you can't fight it, then join... its like putting a rotten apple to good apples.. some people also benefit from the corrupt system, that is why its hard to find solutions to the problem.

it is human nature to be corrupt. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Corruption has been there from the inception of mankind. of course steps have to be taken to curtail them or eradicate them. it is not that poor people only are corrupt. In fact as a man rises in cadre and wealth he becomes more corrupt. Philipines is not exception. The worst -- is it Bangladesh? have a good day.
